I Don't Know!
By Deirdre
I don't own anything.
What is wrong with me? lol, I think I'm trying to avoid updating all my previous stories, but I've been attacked by so many plot bunnies I'm amazed I'm still alive.
"I don't know anymore!" cried Minerva as she flicked through the pages of the worn book she was reading. When Severus smirked she threw it across the room, aiming for his head. She missed however, and the book fell to the ground, but not before knocking a stack of papers of a shelf.
"I can't be that hard!" exclaimed Rolanda as she picked up a rag and started to polish her broom.
"Well it is." replied Minerva grumpily as she tried to curl up on her seat. She groaned in frustration when she couldn't.
"What about Emily?" suggested Poppy.
"No."
"Madison?"
"No."
"Ethan?"
"No."
"Mridula?"
"NO!"
"What about Merlin?" asked Rolanda. "Any child of yours is sure to be smart!"
"Merlin!" said Minerva loudly. "You can't call a child Merlin!"
"Why not?"
"You just can't." said Minerva firmly.
"Why not?"
Minerva sighed loudly, stood up slowly and retrieved the book. Severus watched with amusement as she waddled over.
"What does it say for Poppy?" asked Poppy suddenly as she watched Minerva.
"Flower," said Minerva once she was comfortably seated, with the book open on her lap. "Poppy is Old English for flower."
Poppy smiled as she looked around the room.
"What about Rolanda?" asked Rolanda casually.
"Its German!" announced Minerva after a while. "And it means 'from the famous land'."
Rolanda snorted. "What about Severus?" she asked as she watched the brooding Potions Master.
"No," snapped Severus when he was drawn out of his reverie.
"Why not Sevie?" teased Rolanda. "Scared it will be something bad?"
"Don't be stupid woman," snarled Severus as he crossed his arms and swung back on his seat.
"It means "lady in pink"," interrupted Minerva.
"WHAT!"
"It's true," replied Minerva calmly.
Severus turned a light shade of red when Rolanda collapsed on the floor, overcome by hysterics.
"It means severe," said Poppy after a while as she read over Minerva's shoulder.
"What about nasty, cold, cruel..." said Rolanda from the floor, still shaking with laughter.
Suddenly the door was slammed shut. Severus had left. Poppy stepped over Rolanda and peered out the door. He was striding towards the dungeons.
"Rolanda," scolded Poppy as she let go of the door.
"What?" asked Rolanda genuinely.
"You took it a bit far didn't you?"
"I was only joking!"
"He didn't seem to think so," said Minerva.
"What have I missed?" asked Albus stepped into the room, his arms full of baby name books that he dumped on the floor when he took a seat next to his pregnant wife.
