Ok, I'm sorry I didn't clarify. It is simple really. He summoned her as Minerva McGonagall, but she was no longer Minerva McGonagall but Minerva Dumbledore so she didn't come. Oh don't you love the small details!

As to it being the end-there might be one more chapter-shorter though-but then i shall bring this story to an end.

I'm so sad it's over But what a nice ending. I loved the story behind the brooch and the the fact that he couldn't summon her and the reason why. Very thoughtfull.

Maybe this also explains why just taking his life wouldn't satisfy Albus. What a terrible ordeal, but a perfect ending. I enjoyed this story even though it was somewhat difficult to read at times.

Now I really want to smack someone. *looks around* Damn it! Tom's not here. How could he? If he really wanted her to be his because of his power then get her to do some complex spells or something. That's much better than rape. But he's an frigging idiot (sry for the words...) and prolly isn't smart enough to realize that. But I love the whole brooch, and the story behind it. But I love watching the HC - when I get a chance - so I guess I'm a dork too. But I just love it ... done in mostly one sitting - unless you count going to get the ringing phone a pause and it splits into two sittings. Wow ... just ahh-mayzing!!!

Ahhhh so I just read this for the first time, and I was hooked from the very beginning. Incredible. Very heart wrenching at times--I wanted to cry at how horrible Riddle was to Minerva. But an amazing story.
