Summary : Minerva is rather reluctant to go to a certain costume party the Minister is throwing at Hogwarts. She hopes to see him there, and he hopes to see her but he doesn’t.
Persuasion
“Oh Rolanda,” Minerva pleaded. Rolanda Hooch was standing in Minerva’s sitting room, glaring at a stern witch with absolute defiance written on her face.
“Minnie you must come with us! I won’t take n- “, she was cut off by a famous, if not rather infamous, death glare from the annoyed professor across the room.
“How many times have I told you?” Minerva walked across the room and up to Rolanda, who took a nervous step back towards Poppy. Minerva was starting to get angry and that was never a good sign.
“Hundred…” Rolanda muttered.
“One hundred times Ro! And it still hasn’t gotten through your head yet?!”
Poppy, who hadn’t said anything the entire time, took a careful step forward. She looked at Minerva with eyes that could make a Hagrid feel like Flitwick. She had had enough! The only reason Minerva didn’t want to go, from what she could see, was because Albus was going.
“Minerva.”
“What?”, she barked.
Poppy gave her a Don’t - You -Snap - At - Me- look before answering.
“You are going to that party whether you like it or not. If Rolanda and I have to strap you down and drag you there ourselves, you will attend!”, Minerva couldn’t help but stare at her friends bravery, she quickly got a hold of herself.
“Truthfully, “ She began as she turned and sat down gracefully on a chair. “I don’t see why you so dearly want me to attend.” She looked up and saw Rolanda making a face of absolute outrage and humor. Poppy took over again.
“Minerva we 1.) want you to go because you are our friend . 2.) I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself and 3.) a certain headmaster would be delighted to see you there.” She waited for a response, when she got one she grinned.
“Fine Poppy, Rolanda you two win, but what am I to wear? The party is in less than five minutes.” This is where Rolanda steeped forward happily. They had already picked out the little number she was to wear. It was a cross between a medieval and muggle prom dress. The color was black and bloody red . It came with a black mask that covered the eyes and nose. When Minerva saw it she did something the never expected her to do. She laughed, tears fighting to fall and checks turning red.
“Alright, alright. “She brushed tears from her face. “Now where is it?”
“Er…” , Poppy started.
“Minerva this is it.”, Rolanda finished. Minerva’s expression quickly changed.
“Bloody Hell!! Its strapless! Not to mention its muggle of all things! “ She ranted.
“I’m not wearing it.” She finally stated stubbornly. It degraded her pride that dress did. To think they thought she would go out in public and wear that. The nerve of them! And yet…
A few seconds later, Minerva walked out of her chambers, defeated. They all walked to the Great Hall. When they got there and walked in, Minerva was shocked.
