Immortality Challenge

I've just posted this on my profile on FF.Net and so far no responses. I thought I'd give it a go here. I already have a fic I'm writing that fits the rules (it's not posted anywhere yet) and another idea which is similar but not the same.

1. Albus and Minerva are together (don’t have to be married). One of them (doesn’t matter which) is immortal. (They could have a curse on them, they could be a magical creature like a vampire, elf or Veela, although I’d prefer you didn’t use one of the first two as I’m using them myself.) Be creative!

2. Write a fic detailing how they deal with their inevitable separation. Does it interfere with their current relationship or can they put it aside in everyday life? Does one never think about it while it dominates the other’s life?

3. A bad guy already knows or finds out, both that they’re together and that the one of your choice is immortal. It could be Voldemort, Grindelwald or some other Dark wizard from your imagination, or a name that’s just been mentioned in the books like Herpo the Foul. It doesn’t matter, as long as he (or she) is evil.

4. The immortal one is tempted by the bad guy’s offer to make the mortal one also immortal in return for something (e.g. handing Harry over). You decide whether the offer goes as far as a discussion. The story can end how you like, except:

5. Neither Albus nor Minerva are allowed to kill, maim, or otherwise do anything to Harry that goes against their character. That rules out handing him over to Voldie to get the immortality prize. Sorry!

6: No HBP. Sorry, I don't like that book.

Oh my! Erm...this sounds REALLY interesting! Okay I already have agreed to do Harry as being related to ADMM but when that's going I will start this one. This is such a cool idea! 100 points to Gryffindor!

Hey does it have to be from just Albus and Minerva's perspective because I want Harry to figure prominently as well. Indeed I have written the first chapter and its his POV. I was considering making it everyone's point of view BUT McGonagall's and how different people see her. And as revelations happen (which they will) show the multiple character's reactions.
And I'm setting this during HBP if that's okay.

In my version it's only one of four major storylines centred around couples - the other ships are Harry/Luna, Aberforth/Poppy and Draco/Hermione, which each have a plot but all the plots are tangled up in each other so it's like one big angsty romance.

It can be from anyone's point of view and doesn't have to be the main storyline either. It could be from Voldemort's point of view if you want! *chuckles*

When you say it's set during HBP, you mean as an AU to the book, or as a different sixth year fic? I've really gone off HBP and would rather not have it in unless it's necessary, unless you give it a happy ending. Then it's okay.

Why don't we take this to PM so we don't spoil everyone for the finished things? Maybe you could give me some ideas for my own response.

I'll quickly write one more. And yes AU from HBP - I didn't mind the book itself but it won't work with what I'm doing. This should be really interestings to see how they turn out.

I've started posting my own version of this one on the boards. (It's a pain - I set a challenge to get rid of plot bunnies and end up writing my own version anyway because I can't resist. Huh.) Anyway, it's a bit different now to how I described it eariler in the thread - the ships are instead Albus/Minerva (obviously), Ron/Hannah Abbott, Draco/Hermione, Aberforth/Poppy and Harry/Rowena.
