I like that Apocalypticat.
I will say, regardless of what her motives were, I don't think this was an accident. Mark Evans, for example, was a really easy coincidence seeing as Evans s a fairly common name and was somethign easily overlooked by Jo. She just put down a name and moved on. This on the other hand, is a somewhat detailed description and I find it hard to imagine that she didn't notice hte similarities between the two. What this was intended to mean, we can debate, but I don't thnk it was accidental.

Great, more ADMM in the books! I noticed it as well as I was reading, but didn't think of it that way. Definetly makes sense!

Personality plays a huge part. All of my family have the same MBTI result (INFP if anyone is interested), though of course in different degrees. My relationship is compared with my parents, and coincidentally, we share the same personality. Mum and I are like bloody twins, so it was no real suprise I'm with someone similar to my father.
As for the Harry/Ginny thing - didn't Lily have darker red hair than Ginny? I can't remember exactly, but all of the Weasleys have the 'flame-red' hair, whereas Lily I thought had a darker shade. Meh, I dunno. As for Albus...a lot of women have straight posture and black hair. And a tight hair style is practical.

God, I've been in college too long... Me, too. And I've decided to be a masochist and continue on with grad school... I think there is definitely a pattern. JRK has said herself that she likes making inter-generational patterns within her stories (though she didn't use those exact words) when she spoke of killing off the Lupins, leaving Teddy an orphan, just like Harry.

chudleycannonsfan, you are becoming my new favourite person. I never put two and two together until I saw this thread, and what you're saying makes perfect sense. Freud's theory can be proven so easily, and so frequently. I really don't see why JK wouldn't have used it on purpose. Just seems like something she would do. Thanks for pointing it out to a rather unobservant person.

chudleycannonsfan, you are becoming my new favourite person. Aww, I'm touched. Of course, JK's recent comment sort of blows my whole thesis, at least as far as anything being intentional on her part is concerned. Oh well. I tried.

I panicked when I saw it, I thought (being one of those people who read FAR too far into the books) that JKR was describing her like Minerva in a hint that the two were related in some (close) way ... I was relieved when that wasn't the case. This is a VERY GOOD thing. Combined with psychological analysis of their characters and the fact that when Colin was found in CoS the two were wandering the halls *together* and *alone* and then tried to cover it up to Madam Pomfrey ... do you think we could be in with a chance of making JKR change her mind about the pull between them, like she did with Neville and Luna?
