I noticed on the board while some challenges have a lot to post like # 40 which involved Hooch, Pompfey, and Sprout others like the current one get almost no post. There's some frustration on the board when no one responses to a challenge. My question to the board and some people might find this stifling but what makes a good challenge? Why do you response to challenge? Should we rotate genres? I really like challenge tag and want to keep it.

Hey all,
I believe the response or lack thereof to a challenge has to do with when it occurs, rather then the challenge subject itself.
Given the last month has been rather hectic, (end of the school year, exams, beginning of the summer, the holiday in the US) this may be the reason for the low turn out to recent challenges.
Perhaps, response time to a particular challenge could be extended, to three weeks rather then two. Or longer if it falls over a holiday or busy time of year.
Just some ideas, because I too would like to keep the challenges coming, it stirs up new scenarios for our favorite couple.
Thanks,
Truly

Truly, I was just about to suggest EXACTLY the same thing! There have been quite a few challenges that I have started but due to time constraints, never finished them by the due date so just didn't finish them at all!
I love this board too, and really enjoy reading great responses every week!!!

Hi all, I felt I ought to respond to this, even though I have NEVER responded to a challenge...I do read them all, though Personally, I think people don't respond to challenges if they are too ordinary, unimaginative, or if they have been done SO MANY TIMES BEFORE, which seems to be too often the case. People also stick with safe challenges which they know might please everyone, or not be too "challengin"...I dunno, sometimes I think the challenges are so lame and SO BORING and soooo bloody tweeeeeeeeee! But on the other hand, I have never responded to one, so perhaps it is not my place to say. Then again, I have never been INSPIRED to respond to one either!! mugs.x
