Am I the only one?

When I first saw the first HP movie, I haven't read the books at all. When I first saw Min and Albus, I thougt they were married and Harry's parents. Am I the only one, or has anyone's thought this too?

I must confess I didn't. Not even when I read the first book. It was only after the sixth book (my timing is impeccable!) that I really considered them as an item. Not necessarily married and I didn't think they were Harry's parents, but hey if you know any cool stories where the author does go down that avenue, feel free to share! I'd love to read it/them!

I didn't either, it was only after the second movie that I was like 'hang on....' and then I found this board and I was like 'yup, I'm an idiot, it's so obvious!!!!'

Hmm, let's see. I was nine when I first read the book (technically, my teacher read it to the class, and I didn't take most of it in well and when she she failed to finish it before the end of term I read the library copy myself) I did sort of get the impression that their conversation was rather ... staged? I had the feeling that they were closer than they let on. Later, I forgot that until I sort of worked the ship into a fic (by accident!), and then become a fully-fledged shipper soon after.

I'd already decided that I wanted Albus and Harry to have a closer relationship than they appeared to in canon (that's actually what the fic in question was about) and once I started shipping, the three became the perfect family in my mind. Since, I have gained myself a reputation on FFnet as putting the three together in the most peculiar situations. 50 fics (all WIPs, I confess, but none abandoned) with well over half featuring a close family-like relationship. And a lot of those are based on blood (as in, ADMM the parents, grandparents, aunt/uncle, brother/sister-in-law, etc ...). The rest tend to be Harry adopted by them, or one of them and ADMM get together later

After writing all that, I have just noticed you've actually reviewed a couple of my fics on this board. Thank you. I generally only post the ADMM-centric ones here, most of the more family-centred ones are on FFnet (same username).

When I read the book my little 9 year old self was very sure they were a couple. It took me until I was 15 to become a shipper.

I thought they were together from the start. The ship thing was just something I stumbled into.
