“Yes, that would be nice,” Teddy said. “But… you see, I’m an old man. It must be soon.”
Jean looked at him more carefully. Yes, he was old but he also seemed rather frail, something she’d never expected to see in him. But that was probably what age did to people.
“Of course, Teddy. We’ll arrange for the meeting as soon as possible. We’ll stay here in Edinburgh for a couple of days longer but we’ll owl… I mean, phone Hermione and her parents and ask them to come. Is that alright with you?” Jean could hit herself for that slip of tongue. But for her, the wizarding world and all of its surprises had become normal by now.
“Owl?” Teddy asked. His body might be frail now but his mind was as sharp as ever.
“Yeah, well… it’s a long story,” Jean said weakly.
“There are… certain things that are a bit more out of the ordinary in our community, Mr Lloyd. We have different means of transportation, for example.” Severus knew that it wasn’t wise to tell a muggle so many details but then again… he had to find some explanation anyway why Jean hadn’t aged. So far, Teddy hadn’t bothered to ask but Severus was sure that, at some point, he would.
“I see,” Teddy replied.
After some more minutes of chatting Jean and Severus bid Teddy and his granddaughter good day and left. Jean’s mind was a whirl but Severus seemed to be the master of the situation, as always.
“I’ll owl Minerva. I’m sure she can arrange a meeting for next week or something,” he said.

Yay !!! An update - and what a great one !! I so love this story ... It is such a cool idea ... And of course I had to laugh out loud at the thong ... Poor Sev ... Guess he really isn't the best in Transfigurations ... Now I'm curious to see the reunion between Teddy, Hermione and her mother ... |

So am I actually. Really have to re-read it at some point cause I don't think that I'd be able to continue writing otherwise. But it's good that you reminded us of that one. Really a pity if we didn't bring it to an end. We've had way too much fun with it so far.  |

Ah, oops, haven't thought about our dear little madfic for a while but here it is: The long-expected end to a *drumroll* 100-word-pages story. Yeah, we're that bonkers. ;D Anyways, it's short but I thought that it has been going on for quite a while, and why just lengthen something unnecessarily...
“I’ll owl Minerva. I’m sure she can arrange a meeting for next week or something,” he said before they made their way back to the hotel. Within a couple of days, Albus and Minerva had arranged for a meeting between Hermione, her mother and Teddy. Jean and Severus would be with them at the beginning and introduce them but then leave them as discreetly as possible. The following events would certainly shake up Hermione’s world but these wouldn’t be the only changes. Severus’ wedding to that strange woman had been some kind of secret at Hogwarts, so naturally everyone knew about it. At the beginning of the new term some students had already noticed the subtle changes in the potion master’s behaviour, as Minerva observed with a chuckle as she snuggled closer to Albus in front of the fire one night. In the last couple of weeks they had changed history but it seemed that, for once, it didn’t have any horrid consequences. Severus and Jean had both found the love of their lives, Hermione finally knew more about her family background, and an old man had found peace. And, most importantly, Voldemort had been conquered. “Quite an exciting summer we’ve had, my dear,” Minerva said. “Oh, certainly. And knowing our students – and teachers, for that matter – I’m sure we’re in for some more surprises, my love,” Albus said with a smile but the twinkle in his eyes proved that he was quite looking forward to the next adventure. Yeah, I did re-read it a couple of days ago, and though I really love it, sometimes I can only shake my head at what madness we actually came up with. ;D
