Wierd. So she says that Dumbeldore is dead. Intersesting, I always thouht so, but I don't know I hoped. O well though. Like many fics protray Snape as good, becasue He was told to kill DUbledore under DD's orders. Weird. I did not think that she would come out and say anything about DD, but I guess that she was getting fed up with the debate.

Nooooo! *Sobs* It's just NOT FAIR! I want to cry all over again now. So does this: (From Mugglenet) Imply that none of the trio die, perhaps... Oooohness I'll just go back to my crying now.

Oh, and re: the trio surviving the series....This might be a little spoilerish so if you dont wanna know....meh. Dont read.I'm not sure how many of you listen to The Leaky Cauldron's PodCast "Pottercast" ( www.pottercast.com) but if you do you have probably heard this already: As a part of the promotion of the release of Half Blood Prince in Paperback last week, Leaky's Melissa Anelli along with Emerson Sparz from Mugglenet and Cheryl Klein of Scholastic, undertook a series of podcasts in bookstores throughout the USA. At the podcast in Naperville, they reported that JKR had actually visited that bookstore before, back in 1998, waaaay before Potter became this huge phenomonen. And the book store owner told Melissa Anelli and co. that someone had asked JKR if the trio would make it through the series, and she said yes. PLEASE don't take this as gospel, because ONLY Jo knows what is gonna happen, and it is possible that this may be misinformation, or incorrect or that she has changed her mind or whatever.... Just interesting to speculate about, don't you think? EDIT: you can find instructions for listening to the Scholastic podacasts here: www.scholastic.com/harrypotter/podcasttour

Yes, but... He may be really dead. But we've seen before that events can be undone. This is a theory that I've had for a bit, and haven't seen it shot down yet..soo... Isn't there a possibility that the Time Turner will make another appearance? It was brought up once in book three, so we'd think theres a chance it will be brought up again at some point. Since DD has shown Harry about it before and how to use it, could he have done that as a preparation for something to come (ie his inevitable death here)? Harry knows how to use the time turner and has the possibility to use it to prevent DD's death (or maybe the battle or some other aspects?) Keeping with this theory, it all could have happened to show Harry what can be changed the next time- what to prevent, where to be (the invisibility cloak perhaps important- DD warned before how dangerous it is to see yourself if you use a time turner-the cloak could perhaps prevent that from happening?), and who to have around. It seems like Jo perfectly set the scene for the time turner to be used at some point... Only a theory, which will probaby easily be shot down

KSpirit, that would make a lot of sense. I was just talking to a couple of people yesterday about Harry Potter theories (I love hearing people's theories!), and a guy told me that it's funny how some things that were seemingly important in the earlier books don't seem to be pertinent anymore. I'm thinking that a lot of that stuff will come back in a big way in the last book.

Yea I was listening to a few podcasts from the book tours (or smething, I forget!) and I thought about that when they were talking about some stuff.
Also- Jo said DD's family would be a profitable line of inquiry...does that mean his brothers, parents, etc. or can we go on marriage?

Well, doesn't Branda feel spanktaculous... BUT! There is always hope that there was a bit of MMADness before our Bumblebee died. ;D Branda doesn't like dead Bumblebees....

I believe that marriage will play a part because didn't JK say she'd reveal the marriages in the last book? Hmm...

If she says that McGonagall is married to anyone OTHER than Dumbledore, then I'll have a fit. But if she says she's married to Snape.... They'll have to bury me next to Dumbledore. I admit I'll willingly accept his death if I absolutely MUST, but if she says that McGonagall is not married to Dumbledore flat out, then I'll cry.... forever and ever.... ~mmadlyinlove~

Married to Snape! That'll buy me some years on the couch!
I just hope that JK will reveal that Minerva and Albus were long married. JK said Minerva was worthy, but not Dumbledore's equal - I hope she doesn't mean that that excludes them from being married... There are so many theories on Dumbledore's death - that a Time Turner will be used again, that he will come back as a ghost, that he is actually in hiding... I don't believe any of that.
I have read somewhere there is something with Fawkes and that he is coming back. That I don't understand, but perhaps someone can enlighten me.
What I am looking forward to reading is how Minerva will run the school, how many students will return and the part of Ginny. Being born as the first girl in many generations must mean she is a powerful witch. Are there parallels between Ginny and Minerva? Both in love with wizards who once saved the world from evil?

I was listening to pottercast and someone there said that they felt that having his portrait appear was proof that he had died. I justthink his character is too much like that of Gandalf or Aslan (both of whom died then returned) to be gone completely. My dad is still convinced he's not really dead.

I was thinking about when his portrait was just sleeping.... Why would he be sleeping instead of walking around? Dumbledore is not the type to just fall asleep... even if he just died! ~mmadlyinlove~

Maybe all dead headmasters/headmistresses have sleeping portraits until their bodies are buried. Just an idea.
