[From Mugglenet]:
In a new interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Prisoner of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuaron says that he would be "very tempted" to direct Deathly Hallows:
I feel a little bit like I have to try to do the films that are not going to exist without me. On the same token, I would be really tempted because it was really beautiful. I just started reading the last book and something I respect is the care the producers have put in the film franchise. It would have been so easy after the success of the series just to take the cynical approach of knowing that no matter what people are going to see those movies. Actually they've been taking a lot of care from beginning to end, so yeah I would be really tempted.
Personally I hated PoA and found Cuaron more focussed on costume design than on communicating the story (Marauders, anyone?). If he directs DH I will scream my head off.

I've no complaints, I thought he did a great job on the emotional aspects of POA that weren't exactly said outright in the book. His style is the one I want for DH...

Aside from his cackness at explaining the Marauders story, and the criminal lack of Min,I really liked POA, so I'd be quite pleased to see him. As long as it's not David Yates.

i didn't like the setting out of PoA, way scenes faded in n out n that didn't like it much though still like it (guess coz fav book / Lupin =] )
i thought Yates would be good....steven spielberg was rumored at one point (think was at start of films for book one but refused coz wanted Haley Joe Osment) but would be good for last film =]

PoA was dreadful. I will not see this film if he decides to murder it slowly like he did PoA. How dare he try to direct my new favourite. Before now PoA was always my favourite, he ruined that, he can't do it to DH

Yeah, I thought PoA was horrible compared to the other movies.

Oh dear God no please not him. PoA was my favorite book until he came along. I think Tim Burton should do it. J/K, but that would be awesome. EDIT: Lol, I said "movie" and meant book. I silly.

Ah, mixed reactions! I confess a certain partiality to Yates, as movie 5 is my favourite so far (the direction with regards to the possession was, to me, phenomenal).

hmmm. Well y preoblems with the 3rd arose mostly from the script adaptation, not from his direction(lack of Min, lack of Marauders explanation etc.). I actually reallly liked the different mood he created with it. It became more about a real world with magic then a 'Magical world', you know what I mean? It focused less on oohhh moving staircases and floating candles and more on the emotions of the characters and their relationships. I could see him doing a good job.
Sir Francis Drake's Heir I've always thought Tim Burton should do at least one of them, it would be so cool. And can you imagine the scene of Harry walking into the woods with Burton doing it? I already know exactly what it would look like, and that is awsome

I confess to hating the first three movies—and I agree that Cuaron focussed more on relationships than the Disneyish 'oooh magic' thing of the first two. I DID prefer the third to the first two. However, that movie irritated me in so many ways and I think I blame Cuaron for the new Dumbledore. I agree it could be script writing that was my issue though.

I do really hope Cuaron would do a better job this time, if he directs DH! I'm getting used to the gangsta homie Dumbledore!

Anyone but Michael Newell.
I would actually like to see what David Yates does with DH, I like his style...

I have to admit I'm not too fond of PoA, so I hope someone else will direct DH ... I can't exactly put my finger on what I don't like about PoA, I just know that it's my least favourite movie ... Maybe it's because of all the changes from the first two ... And yes, I know that it's not Cuaron's fault that Richard died and they cast Gambon, but I don't mean only that ... Cuaron changed all the costumes, the settings, everything ... And I just loved the first two movies, so maybe that's it ...

I don't really know why I disliked Micheal Newell's direction so much. I just couldn't get into the plot. I felt like a lot of the movie was canned, that it was kind of thrown together. It was a very flashy movie- you've got the yule ball, the dragons, the maze...but there was hardly any character work at all. I mean, I only got the jist of Harry's attraction to Cho. It was a blink-and-you-miss-it kind of movie. For me, anyway.

I wouldn't mind Cuaron doing DH. I think he would put the right atmosphere into it. I actually really liked PoA.
