Heeey...

Been wondering for some time now which colour Minerva's eyes are...!?!
Most fics I've read has her eyes as green (my fav) but some as blue also...

Just curious...

I tend to think of her with green eyes...I think it is her cat form and the black hair that really leads me to that color. I have wondered why JKR never mentioned it.

I have always figured there was a reason JK has never mentioned her eye cover. I wonder if there isn't something (maybe about Lily) we don't know yet. Also remember the books are from Harry's perspective and sometimes he needs a clue-by-four (most commonly known as Hermione) to notice things and put two and two together. That is why I think her eyes are green.

I think her eyes are green too! i don't know if it is because I have read so many fics with her having green eyes, it just seems to make sense to me for some reason ..

I'm not sure why I have always pictured her with green eyes. Maybe it is all the fics I've read where she turns out to be some relation to Harry (who has the same green eyes).

Or, it could be, that I just picture her with green eyes because of her animagus form. It is easier for me to picture a cat with green eyes, rather than blue, brown, or gray (or tartan), heh heh heh!

Tartan eyes. That would be something else. Quite a sight and unforgettable too.

I checked on the Lexicon. Under McGonagall's entry it just says she has beady eyes. I usually think of beady eyes as being black. However, I think black hair and black eyes would be a bit much. I vote for green.

No, I too believe that her eyes are green... I don't know why, maybe because of her robes being emerald green... or like so many others, because of the many fics in which she has green eyes...

People usually think of eyes being some shade of blue or brown. But as someone with green eyes, I voted for green. Maybe to go along with her robes?

Min just seems like a bright intelligent woman with bright green eyes. (not to say that her eyes couldn't be any other colour) but i think it just works as a contrast to dumbledore and with the robes as well. there has to be a reaon JK didn't mention the eye colour.

Well I'm going for green too. Green robes, green eyes kinda fits. But I suppose that's because of all the fics I'm reading.

But a connection would be nice thing. I mean a story around that has always been spoking about in my brain.

Well, to me, it depends on if we are talking about Maggies Minerva or JKRs Minerva. Mags' Minerva actually has a grey colored eyes. But I am going to talk about JKRs Min so to me, I think that they are very very green. (green is my eye color too!! YAY!) I dont know why but I think that adding that to Minervas physical characteristics, it makes her more mysterious. She is aways wearing emerald robes, she has dark, raven colored hair that is always tight in a bun, she has deep, green eyes... I mean, doesnt adding deep, green eyes to her physical characteristics make her MORE interesting? I think so. ;D

I voted for brown. I remember seeing something about her having dark beedy eyes- and it just fit. of course, you didn't have Hazel as a color option (yes, Hazel is a color much like Tartan!) and its a very cool color to have because.... your eyes change color with what you are wearing and I know this because.... I have hazel eyes, so sometimes my eyes look golden, sometimes they look blue, sometimes green, and sometimes brown. Its very cool to have hazel eyes. Why? you may ask? because... (snicker) well there was a guy and he said he liked me and he had a roving eye at the same time and I wanted to know how serious he was about me... so... (I was wearing light blue the day before and dark this day) I turned around so my back was to him, and said. "If you really love me, you can tell me what my eye color is..." and he pipes up and says. "Blue! Light blue!" and I turn and looked at him and he blinked because my eyes were looking very dark and forboding and he said. "Uh oh..."

So, she could have Hazel eyes, and it would change with what she is wearing!!! ;D

Grovy, wish I had hazel eyes too... Yeah, I could see her with hazel eyes, though my favourite is still green, only because I am a sucker for green...

I agree with Foci that her eyes could be gray. I also think they could be blue as well. But mostly I believe it's a combo of the two. That's just my opinion. I don't know why, but I see Minerva with gray-blue eyes. I wish mine were that color, instead green and brown. My eyes looks like mudpies with bits of grass of leaves added to the mix!

grey could work...my sister thinks there is no such thing as grey eyes, and the weird part is...my eyes ARE grey and she sees me everyday!

Depends if you're using US or UK English. The spelling everywhere but in the states uses an 'e', while we ignorant Americans (for some unknown daft reason) use an 'a'.

Once again I must bemoan the fact that we've mutilated the spelling of perfectly fine words for no good reason.

*Refrains from commenting about the butchering of the english language* . No I don't mean it, it doesn't bother me that it was changed, but if you think about it gray sounds like you say it, and grey doesn't so perhaps your way makes more sense.

Argh no, I have grey/blue eyes, I'll swap you! You're incredibly lucky green eyes are the rarest colour, I thinbk that's why it really suits Min. Plus the emerald green robes match. I'm not sure I just always assumed they were green.

Oooh Green eyes... although, I do vaguely recall that I wrote her as having green 'with hazel flecks' or some such, in Nouveau.

Apparently I have chocolate drop eyes, but I find nothing remarkable in them, and would swop them anyday for blue or green... or my old 'catseyes' contact lenses. But they were just extremely scary...

Because of her animagus form being a cat, I've always thought of Minerva having green eyes. On the other hand, Maggie Smith has blue eyes, unless because of the light they are grey.

Like everybody has said: green fits with the eyes of a Tabby cat and green is a beautiful color for eyes!
Or I'm brainwashed because of all the reading -> in the fics she ussually has green eyes.
