hmmm...'tension', it does sound a little better than 'stress', but I don't think many people here would understand if I said PMT.
Good luck with the songfic, btw, I look forward to reading it.
The very first fanfic I wrote wasn't very good and it was really long, but it had a sad ending too. I'm sure yours will be fine and the other writers here will be happy to offer suggestions to make it even better!

LOL! I could just see like Poppy walking down the hall and seeing Albus... She stops him by touching his arm, "Carefull, Albus. Min is PMTing." Albus' face drains of all color. "Thank you, Poppy!" *runs away and tries to avoid her without making it SEEM like he's avoiding her*. ~mmadlyinlove~

I can just imagine it... The upright, strict, poker-face McGonagall suddenly bursting into a tirade on something completely random, leaving Albus wide-eyed and terrified- or at least wary! e.g. Minerva and Albus were in his office, signing end-of-term reports and writing their comments on the students performance. Minerva, surrounded by tall, leaning piles, was busy scribbling and frowning over Severus' handwriting, whilst opposite, Albus tried vainly to find a quill that wasn't a sugar quill. Eventually, after having tipped out all his drawers and sucked dry a number of the aforsaid useless imitation quills, he looked somewhat desperately across at his deputy. 'Minerva,' he began, tentatively; well-aware of what she thought of his sweet tooth. 'I don't suppose that, just perhaps, you have a spare quill?' 'Where are yours?' she asked vaguely, without pausing her writing. 'I ate them..' She stopped and looked up at him, took a breath, capped the ink, sat back in her chair and let out the breath, lips tight, face pinched. 'I see.' He smiled hopefully. 'Please?' he asked, very nicely he thought. Minerva hissed from behind what sounded like clenched teeth. 'Of course Albus,' she said, and gave him her quill. He took it gladly and stretched out a hand for the first report. 'Now I don't suppose you know what I can write with?' she asked him, acerbically. He glanced back up, surprised, opened his mouth to reply, but she continued, ignoring him. 'Shall i just sit here and suck one of your accursed sugared quills? Perhaps i could make paper areoplanes? If just for one day, Albus, you could be half as organised as your sock drawer! How am i supposed to do my job when YOU are my boss?' 'Whuh-?' said Albus, looking wide-eyed. 'I'm trying to do my best, Albus! I try and i try, but it's never enough, there's always more! How much more can i give you?! I can't take this? Why do you always do this to me? Albus, ALBUS! Would you let ME talk? Do you remember me? I'm a WOMAN, Albus, a Merlin-forsaken WOMAN! And do you ever notice that I HAVE NEEDS TOO? DO YOU?' Albus Dumbledore shrank back in his chair... his deputy was jabbing an aggressively pointy index finger at him. 'I need a BREAK!' Minerva McGonagall practically screamed... 'A BREAK, Albus!' 'Okay!' he squeaked. 'Take a break! Take one now! NOW!' 'Are you ... shouting at me?' She asked him incredulously. 'No! Absolutely not!' he denied, shaking his head so that his beard swept a pile of reports floating to the floor. 'Oh merlin, no!' cried Minerva. 'They were ORGANISED!' And burst into tears. ~*~ LOL, Okay, i got carried away! The idea just makes me giggle!  |

It does seem rather long...I put mine at two weeks, one to write/post and one to review, but only one person did anything so I extended it, not that it did much good. Anyway, I hope you win because even though I liked all the other fics, I think your was the best and most original. |
