Just curious, I think there are a lot of mixed opinions about.
Personally I think that she prefers to be called 'Minerva', however it's Albus and I think he'd talk her around. I like 'Min' and 'Tabby' and think she'd allow him to get away with those in private. At least sometimes. She'd still prefer 'Minerva'.
I do, however, detest him, or anyone but Xiomara trying to wind her up, calling her 'Minnie'. She would never stand for that (I don't think).

Heh, I've always thought 'Tabby' was cute. I'm not sure how she'd feel about Min, though. I think it's mainly because I can't imagine Albus saying it.

I think that Min is an easy name to slip into that she would probably let him get away with every once in awhile...Tabby is something he would tease her with I think. But I do not believe that she would let anyone else say Min, Tabby, or especially Minnie. I honestly don't think anyone would dare. ;D
I once wrote a fic where Minerva was married then divorced from an OC and he called her Kitty because of her animagus...

I think she might allow him to call her "Tabby" or "Min" sometimes but not really "Minnie"...

I just don't like the name Minnie, so that is an easy one. I just can't imagine not having any sort of nickname or petname for each other. Even if it is just in teasing or something as ChildMinerva said. I like Min and Tabby. I can see her friends calling her Min. I mean my friends have nicknames for me that are diminutives of my name and that is harder to do with Laura than Minerva. It just seems natural when you are close to someone. That being said, I respect everyone elses opinion. I don't think anyone outside of her personal circle of family and friends can call her anything but Minerva or Professor.

Yeah, I get all the horrible nicknames. Mayleene seems like the kind of name you would'nt want to give a nickname, but I have many of them. I especially hate "Meemers" The only person I allow to call me that is my grandma and cuz she's called me that all my life, so I'm used to it. Mainly from her. From her it's a term of endearment, but if anyone else calls me that it gets on my nerves. It's like having someone scrape their fingernails across a blackboard. Not a pretty sound, is it? ~mmadlyinlove~

It's Min and Tabby for me too.. I agree with Laura, only very very close friends would get to call her Min. Tabby would be strictly for Albus only...and I'm sure that would just be in private. Woe betide him if anyone else ever heard him call her that. :-)

I think only Albus can call her Tabby, maybe her friendscan also call her Min. I'm unsure. I don't know about nicknames, it's only fair really to respect what people wish, isn't it? With friends especially that is to say. My friend Tomas prefers Tomas to Tom so I don't call him Tom. My friends Rosemary doesn't mind Rosie and it's shorter so that's what I write/say. My friend Liz would kill me if I ever called her Elizabeth. I like Amy because it really can't be shortened One good thing about it...

I usually hate it when someone that I'm not really close to shortens my name (my name is Tamara) by calling me "Tam" or "Tam Tam". You have to be special to me to call me that (and, for the record, all of you are ;D ).

Wow my nicknames are not so bad. I just have L.J. (Laura Jean), L-Train (this is an odd story), and Sprinks, but that is just the fam.

My nicknames suck! My name is Patricia right? And I'm normally called Trish because I am just not a 'Patricia' person (can't you tell from my posts). BUT! From there it transcends to: Tricky-troo, trixie, tricky-rascal, patsy (ONE person is allowed to do this; ONE), Trix, Trouble, Tyrant, Bubba-loo (world's most demeaning nick-name), Bubba (closely followed by this one). So really, Minerva has it easy!

I don't like Minnie. I like Min and Tabby, however I think Minerva would prefer to be called Minerva... but as EloquentPhoenix says, being Albus maybe (and I stay with MAYBE... Min)
I do hate nicknames... My name is Isabel and my last name is Madera (Madera = Wood), that's enough for a million nicknames that go from Isa to Maderini, Belita (little candle), Woodsito, Reina, Reino, Kingsito... I always prefer to be called simply Isabel.

As cute as it is to think of him referring to her with all three nicknames I most admit it can't really picture any except Min. there just seem to informal even for private life. THen again that's just my view...

Not to get off topic or anything...but what kind of nicknames would Minerva give Albus? Keep in mind that Minerva would probably never come up with a goofy name or something silly. I can't think of any at the moment...do you think she even has a pet name for him?

No, I don't think she does, she is too serious for it. I think she only allows Albus to because it's Albus, and her friends perhaps if they've known her for a long time.
And Albus doesn't shorten very well, does it? Albs. Hmmm. Al? I could see Aberforth calling him that. Albie is as bad as Minnie for me.
No, I don't think so. What's the fanon one? Bumblebee? Again hmm. I personally don't like it, and I think that the animal thing with Tabby only works so well with Min because it's Albus who calls her it.

I agree...I can't see Minerva using a nickname for him. I can see where she would say "my dear" or something like that, but I think she just says Albus, or if she's in a mood..."Albus Brian Percivial Wulfric Dumbledore!"

Min doesn't seem the sort to give nicknames to me either...I think she would stick with Albus.

Childminerva I think I read that story you mentioned. Not sure if it was that one for sure but I read a story that her OC husband called her Kitty after he found out she was a witch/they had a kid. I don't remember the whole story but it was good.

I can see her letting her friends call her "Min" when a full moon lands on the first Thursday in the ninth month in the Year of the Boar whn she's in a good mood (in otherwords, VERY seldom) and letting Albus call her "Tabby."
Or possible "Kitten." I find that one cute....

I just don't see them as a nickname-couple. But then again, I hate nicknames and petnames and whatnot, so that's probably just my personal bias. =]

I agree with the general consensus. Min to her friends occasionally. Tabby to Albus and only Albus. I read one fic once that shortened Minerva to Mina and I thought that was really pretty.
