WHo, in your opinion is the best (not favorite) teacher at Hogwarts. I didn't include the other teachers because we haven't seen much of them or they are a joke.
Minerva is the best although Flitwick and Lupin are pretty good.

I had a hard time between McGonagall and Snape, but I ultimately went with Snape. I think his icyness and coldness toward his students prepares them for the actual world, and he makes them EARN their grades.

I love almost all of the professors at Hogwarts but Min is my favorite.

Dumbledore, all the way. I love him to pieces, and he's phenomenal.

I put Minerva...because she gets the job done, without any sort of tomfoolery! And she is respected without being hateful. She can keep a class quiet with little effort, but isn't a big ole' turd-face like Snape. (methinks my Snape prejudices are showing through..)

We never really got to hear about Dumbledore teacher, but I am sure that if we had then he would be my pick. But I picked McGonagall. lol.

I picked Snape, because he doesn't molly-coddle his students and makes them work and learn their stuff, but he's got their best interests at heart, I think, and he's just trying to umm...'not-make-them-soft.' And there's probably a real word for that, lol

I can see that. But for me a teacher has to be willing to get to know me. I always want to be able to sit and talk to my teachers. Thats why I love McGongall. There is just a soft spot there. But she also doesnt favor her house. idk, she is sloft but she doesnt let it cloud her thought about things. She follows the rules no matter who it consurns.

Minerva reminded me of someone who can breath flames of punishment, if and ever she catches me sleeping during class. Ok, I admit it... She's my dream teacher... ;D

Minerva would be the kind of teacher I love. Strict but fair, gives you everything you need to pass notes wise and makes you work hard

Minerva. She's strict, but not bias at all. She can control a class well, and tolerates no nonsense, just how I like my teachers to be.

Well I was torn between Min and Lupin, who ae the exact opposite types, but also similar. Both are extreamly fair and interested and helping everyone do good, while Min is more strict and makes things get done, and Lupin has an ease about his teaching and can relax everyone so they can do ther best. I kinda want them both as teachers, but I eventually went with Min cause she lasted longest...I know DADA is a cursed position, but it was a way out

Dumbledore for me! Not I don't love Min (she in fact reminds me of a teacher I was lucky enough to have), but DD does more than teach the curriculum; he teaches life. That and he's my adorable little Dumbles! *fangirls*

I voted for Min but her and Remus are equal for me.. they have the intention of the class and people respect them.. And they're there when Harry needs except the stunner attack.. And most important I would personally love to have those to as my teachers..
I have had one a bit like McGonagall, hope I get one like her at my new school..

I thougt about it a bit more and although I wouldn't change my vote from Snape because I think he's the best teacher in the series, in real life I prefer teachers who can get you to work but are game for a laugh at the same time. My favourite teacher is my history teacher and our whole class loves her, becuase although she makes us work hard she gets to know us and talks to us about things other than Histroy, and she's just such a nice person we all gladly work hard for her. Which is completely opposite from Snape but oh well....

Professor McGonagall all the way! There are a few similarities between the two teachers in that that both have full authority and control of their classrooms and neither handout grades; they have to be thoroughly earned. Howver, Snape actually frightens his students to the point of distraction and he is not fair in his treatment of students. He doesn't offer constructive criticism; he just puts people down. I think Minerva's classroom would be a much better place to learn in because she is fair and does not put up with anyone's bullshit. I also believe she is approachable enough that students would be able to ask questions without being dimissed or belittled. Also, Minerva is respected, where as Severus is feared. Fear does not breed a secure atmosphere and one must feel secure within there learning environment to achieve one's full potential. Personally, I would find it much easier to learn from the former of the two. - Jess

I think Min is the best teacher (although Lupin is good, too). She strict, doesn't tolerate nonsense, but she's fair and cares for her students.

I voted Min ages ago, but now I have a question.
How is it, that Snape, whose method is to terrify and humiliate his students, has votes, but Flitwick doesn't?!

Minerva is the best, but I like lupin and albus. As for why Flitwick has no votes...I have not idea. I like him though.

I said Minerva. *waves flag*
But I was close to saying Snape too. I usually love the grumpy professors. The ones who don't ever want to be there and make things a million times harder. They usually have the same sense of humor as I do and it makes things interesting. ;D

Yeah Minerva is hell cool. Exactly the sort of teacher my maths class needs. But I had to go Remus, because really, I'm a Marauder's fangirl at heart, and Remus really helped Harry understand his parents and Sirius.

I think Flitwick has no votes because you see very little of him in the books, but you do see quite a lot of Snape, and although he is generally a badass, you can't help but love him.

I picked Min because people listen to her without being afraid that she would hurt them if they dont like Snape would do. She is also highly respected.

I voted for Dumbly-dore. I reckon his classes would be far from boring and he'd be a fun teacher. I think he is the type of teacher who could make learning seem fun.

Maybe because the people like the character, not necessarily his teaching methods? A slight bias, perhaps. Personally, even though I love Snape, I would never want him as a teacher.

ditto. As a person Snape is quite a brave and good person, but as a teacher he kinda sucks

Just let me ask you this, even with her immense intellect, do you think Hermione could brew the Polyjuice Potion as a 2nd year if she didn't have Snape as a teacher? He makes her work for her grades and not just rely on her book-learning to get by.
(Or I could just be incredibly biased. I'd love to have him as a teacher, though I'm sure he'd reduce me to tears within five minutes of brewing even the most basic of potions.)
