I think she'd strongly suspected after a while and then he finally told her. I think Min's line in HBP, "Dumbledore would have been happier than anybody to think that there was a little more love in the world," says quiet volumes about their relationship and Min's empathy w/ his predicament. Of course Dumbledore would have supported a relationship (Tonks & Lupin) which society would have scorned as inappropriate, and wished that they could have the kind of love he'd never had the good fortune or societal permission to have. And Min knew he had never been able to find true totally fulfilled love himself. Whether or not they were 'together' themselves in some way, or had been at one point b/4 he came out to her, either of which is totally possible, IMHO.

Nice poll. This pretty much sums up all the angsty plot bunnies I've been channeling in regards to Minerva loving a gay (But REALLY bi) Albus. She probably figured it out herself, but out of her respect (and perhaps something more) for him she wouldn't have ever said anything.

I think - partly because of the whole HBP line - she figured it out. But, I must agree with sparrabether - he could have had a "crush" on Gellert but never have really loved him. But, it was most likely that she figured it out, because even to someone like Minerva; Albus probably had some things he didn't tell anyone.
