I second Amanda, that line "Well I’ve always thought my powers extended into the bedroom,” Albus tried to answer nonchalantly" is absolutely hilarious ;D. And it'd better be true, too . Love, Lies

Chapter Four:
Minerva waited anxiously for any sign of Albus the following day, even spending all afternoon in the café where they first met. By eight that evening Minerva resigned to the fact that she would not hear from Albus this day, and settled down to write her report.
Detailing her five ‘hellos’ wasn’t difficult, and Minerva flew through that part of the report but when it was time to write on her time with Albus all Minerva could do was stare out the window. How could she adequately describe what had taken place? ‘Professor Kipling, I met a wonderful man whom I’d like to date, snog senseless, but he doesn’t think it could work.’ There was something about that which Minerva felt wasn’t quite the right way to go about it when presenting to the class which would assemble in exactly ten hours time.
Gathering her parchment and wand Minerva left her dorm, and headed out for the center most quad on campus. Using her wand for light Minerva reached the area, and settled down on what looked like a nice spot. It was eerie so late at night. The old trees casting frightening shadows, and the sounds of the earth had taken over.
Minerva pushed every thought but Albus out of her mind, and focused on the two days she had with him. It wasn’t just about talking with someone, but he had done something for her. A strong confident woman to many people Minerva was not without her scars, her insecurities, and her holes. Holes in her soul: the places where her fears and the heartbreak had taken over, eating away at something precious inside of her. She concluded that Albus had, without realizing it, repaired some of the damage.
He had proven to her that there were people willing to get to know her, if she allowed them to. Focusing back on her parchment Minerva finally thought of something to write.
Minerva elected to go last in Kipling’s class the following morning: handing her report to the Professor Minerva stood down front in the center of the room and took a breath before speaking.
“I will be honest; when I first heard of this assignment I thought it was impractical and unfair. I agonized over every hello, and wanted each to come in a manner suiting me. They basically did, but I was most concerned about the conversation I was supposed to have with someone. I fell into it by surprise, and it taught me that I do not need control over every aspect of my life; that there is so much to learn from a surprise.
I feared I would be unable to engage a stranger in conversation for one hour, but we spoke for six. It was one of the most enjoyable evenings of my life.
I stayed up half the night thinking about how I would relate our time to you, and even now as I stand before you I find words are not enough. The connection I made with this individual went straight to my soul, it may sound trite but it is true. This person began to repair a damaged part of me that has been damaged too long.” Minerva stopped as she felt tears coming, and took a few moments to regain her composure before continuing.
I was fortunate enough to spend another evening with this person, and I am grateful for it. I do not know if I shall meet my friend again, but I will carry the past two days with me always. Thank you for this assignment Professor.”
The more immature persons in the class wanted to laugh, her speech had been too serious for them to comprehend but the overwhelming silence in the room reduced them to mere eye cutting at each other.
Professor Kipling strode to the center of his room, and spoke softly: “Thank you Ms. McGonagall I can offer no words that equal yours. Class dismissed.”
Excited class had been released so early many students fled out of the room to enjoy the free time, but a few lingered. Minerva was slow to rise and pack her books.
“Minerva I do hope you will meet your friend again soon.” Professor Kipling offered his student before she left.
“Thank you, Professor, so do I.” Minerva walked out of the classroom; her head held high as one tear trickled down her face. She wasn’t sure what she wanted to do with the extra time, and studying did not appeal to her. As she walked out of the building her eyes noticed a bright purple color amongst the sea of students that had just vacated the building.
When the figure came fully into sight Minerva dropped all of her books, and for once did not give a moment’s thought to appropriateness or dignity. She ran down the steps and into his waiting arms.
Albus Dumbledore laughed heartily when he saw Minerva run down the steps, and easily lifted her and twirled her around when she fell into his outstretched arms. Setting her back on the ground he caught her lips in a gentle kiss.
“So,” Minerva started once they broke apart, “dinner?”
Professor Kipling smiled as he stared out of his classroom building; yes indeed human connection was his favorite lesson of the year.
~The End
*I challenge each of you to smile, wave, say hello to someone you do not know. If nothing else you could make someone’s bad day better.
