I just read that JK said Snape has been loved. I'm soooooo afraid that JK will say (in book 7) Minerva and Snape had a relationship. *cries* I do, however, believe the signs point to him and Lily instead.

so I was rereading all the books in the amp up to the last, and realized something interesting. When Dumbledore is drinking hte potion in the 6th, he starts screaming things. Most of them are along the lines of "Please Kill me" and "Make it stop", but a couple are slightly odd and caught my eye
"It's all my fault, all my fault. Please make it stop, I know I did wrong, oh please make it stop and I'll never, never again..."
and
"Don't hurt them, don't hurt them, please, please, it's my fault, hurt me instead..."
and that got me thinking. Could hte potion have had a similar effect as the Demetors? IT seems like he's talking about something completly unrelated to the scene at hand, and I was thinking maybe it was a harrible memory about...something. I'm not sure. Shippy thoughts are that its his and Min's kids he's talking about, but I don't know.
Just a thought
oh and I think the Locket was in Grimmauld place, and that either Kreacher or Mundungus made off with it, and thats where the horecrux is.

misshoneychurch88, I've thought and wondered about that scene as well. Albus's words are so deep and personal there that they really tug at my heart and make me want to cry. It really does sound as though he's talking about his children there.

I just had never noticed it before. The first time I read it I was so intent upon finishing that I just didn't think, and hte others I was so terrified about what was about to happen. Even if it's not his children, though it does sound like it, it's so heartbreaking. I started crying then, and didn't really stop until the end of the book...and then a half an hour more. I think I'm a bit hormonal right now ETA: mrcoolio, best icon ever

I remember I first seriously thought about ADMM when I found out that Dumbledore was a transfiguration professor. It's stupid, of course and there were other and much stronger proofs. But somehow I was sure that teaching the same subject can't be a coincidence. I dislike Snape wholeheartedly and don't really care about Lily Potter. But Snape used to teach potions and we kept reading it over and over again how great she was in potions. So maybe this is not a coincidence, too and it shows they are somehow connected. Nothing seems to be a coincidence in these books.

I don't understand why this disgusting ship has so many supporters. That's impossible. Not that it can't happen in real life. But can you imagine JKR writing about a love affair between a professor and her student who is about 30 years (I know nothing about HP timelines, sorry) younger? Oficially, it's still a book for kids.

I like this tread, it's funny how everybody has their own ideas about the 7th book.
Mine are not that happy. I think Voldemort will be defeated, but also that the whole wizard world will stop existing.
JK Rowling has created this magic world which we all loved, but I have a feeling she will put an end on it. Don't know why exactly.
I am actually hoping I am wrong.

Dumbledore will come back to life. That's the prediction I've been repeating since book 6 came out and while some people think I'm just a dork, I am actually still convinced . Guess we'll know in a few days ;D.

I think that Mr. Ollivander is somebody important <3 that would be funny if he was related to one of the main characters in some way... I dunno I've just always wondered about him. He is just so pleasantly mysterious. I also wonder if Dudley comes to Harry's aid in someway in the next book. Dunno. Snape is good, I believe. Not sure if she'll let him live, though. The weasleys- there are so many of them, odds aren't in their favor, but I do hope its not arthur. hermione and ron will be together (obviously, she's even insinuated that herself I think a few times) and as far as our amazing ship goes, I'm totally in the dark. I know we find out more about his family... and which teachers are married... but I really think I'm too biased to make a proper prediction -grins- I also really hope that the reason that minerva wasnt in the first ootp picture was because she was pregnant :0 of course I could be miles off. Probably am. but I can hope ): <3 anyway, this is the last post I'm making before signing offline for the next week or so. The last book was ruined simply because of going onto google's main page, and as there are copies preleased, signing off a day early seems a good thing to do heehee<3 lovelove edit: I also hope lily wasn't related to voldemort in any way. I was just going over in my head the possible reasons for why he nearly spared her... and gosh that would be a little too star wars for my blood if any of the characters (dumbledore, lily etc.) ended up related to Voldemort *shudders* I really don't see much evidence for that but still... xD just something I'm really hoping isnt the case... also I find it a little odd that in the cave dumbledore was apparently muttering "It's all my fault." funny, that. Same thing Minerva said when after Dumbledore died. huh. I wonder what that's all about... ;D

I think that Neville will become the Hogwarts teacher, Minerva and Aberforth will tell Harry about Dumbledore's past, Minerva and Luna will die, Snape will redeem himself, and Harry will kill Voldemort, but die himself. It would be cute if Neville became a teacher, but I don't think he has enough confidence. I'm betting on Hermione because in Book 5 she was the only one of the trio who didn't have a specific idea about what she wants to do. I definitely agree that Harry will find out more about Dumbledore's past somehow, and Minerva and Aberforth are the logical people to help with that. Minerva could be especially useful since she and Tom Riddle were at school at the same time (see HP lexicon timeline). I don't know about Snape redeeming himself...I'm sort of in two minds because I thought he was good, but then I reread the end of HBP to look for clues and didn't know what to think. In any case, he'll probably be killed by someone (other than Minerva or Harry) or take his own life. I'm also inclined to agree with you about Harry killing Voldemort and then dying at the end.

I agree about the potion being like the Dementor's Kiss...It probably made Dumbledore relive some of his worst memories, which, by the sound of it, would most likely be of him having to watch while someone (or multiple someones) gets hurt and be powerless to do anything. Dumbledore's worst fear is probably not of him getting hurt, but rather of someone he loves getting hurt. As for the locket, I think we all agree on the location...Maybe JKR's got something up her sleeve to surprise us, however. What I'm curious about is how the locket got from Hepzibah Smith to Grimmauld Place.
