well there are quite a few videos, so it's easiest to just go over to mugglenet and watch there. Dumbledore is in the first one a bit, and theres some new stuff of Min in the Umbridge one, but they're all pretty cool
good god why isn't it July yet

Hello! I have the following snapshots from the HBO video: Don't you think Min's attire is a bit weird? It took me like 2 seconds to recognize her!! (It certainly is not a lovely nightgown) And her hair!! (a bit messy... hmm maybe that's Albus' fault) I liked this windy-Albus pic. From which scene? ... I don't know. Welll... hope you like them!!! Love Isabel

I was thinking it looks less like a nightgown than a mans night shirt....hmmm...now where would she have gotten that?

"A dirty mind is a joy forever"
The first thing I thought was: look at Min's hair! Than i thought: it is messy. She is wearing Albus' shirt. I need to tell someone about this! An my man didn't much care, saying I always wear his shirts to bed.
He is right, but he didn't get the significance of ALBUS SHIRTS!!!

oooh what a cute bunny
yeah now that you ention it, that does look kinda like a mans shirt, though I must say I don't think the hair is messy enough for them to have been...well yeah. though it does look like she just threw it in the braid so there is still the thought

hehe... I think the pic of Albus is from the Ministry scene, the one where he fights Voldie. The pics of Min must be right before she delivers the famous (for us shippers, anyway) line "he will not be-" I think you can fill in the rest! And yes, that does look like a man's shirt. It was probably the first thing she could find, if you know what I mean...nudge, nudge, wink, wink!!!

It really does I love her hair like that, is it in a plait/braid? Thsi film could possibly be the one I might actually *takes deep breath* like. If it has that shipper moment I think I'll live with it, and so far it's looking good for being close to the book. Yay a film I won't hate.

actually I think its the scene after harry has the vision of Mr Weasly, since the DA meeting was in the evening, everyone wouldn't be in their pajama's yet...but hopefully we'll still get hte "Tell her any story" line, so many options there. They have to have the "he will not be single handed" line. its not only a great shipper line, but it is also good for the story. it reinforces why Umbridge hates her, and why the stunners are used

they've been getting consistently better, I think. It's kinda funny, but the less true they are to the books the better the movies get. I think theres just so much to cover in hte books, theat they need to be reworked to make good movies

Argh no I completely disagree. They got worse from 1 to 3 and 4 was on par with 2. The more they stick to the book the more sense they make and the better it is. It's JKR's story, and them straying from the book (making things up) makes it worse because that's not how the story works. Skipping unnecessary things is acceptable.

But how do you decide what is unnecessary is the problem for me. Some people might say that "He will not be..." is unnecessary and we would all be crying! lol It's so hard to make a movie from a book, especially ones this popular. I always miss the things left out, but I still watch and enjoy (for the most part) them all.

Hmm it is unnecessary, and if it's cut out I will be disappointed. I want the necessary things to the plot, and the overal plot of all 7 books to make the film good for me. As a shipper good shipping moments, although preferable, don't make the books.
but if they miss it out, and add some other completely unnecessary made up good film bits to make the film seem better and use special effects I'll be livid. Like the bit with the sweets that make you make animal noises in one of them - doesn't happen, not important, adds nothing, JKR's story not yours write your own, is in place of other necessary things. I don't want them to try to make it better for a film by adding random rubbish and not putting in important things. PoA film had no plot.
/rant.
Sorry, I just, I really hate the films for adding made up things and missing out the whole plotline.

No feel free to rant and I agree with you. I just am glad it's not me making those decisions!

I have issues with the films too... I know it must be a very hard job to have to decide what needs to be cut to make the film about 2 hours. I often wonder if they would have been better making 2 part films (like the Kill Bills). But then I suppose that would create a whole load more issues..not least cost, or actor avaliability.

I always go into the movies trying to forget the details about what happens in the books, becaue side plots are going to be lost, and alot has to be cut, but I have to disagree about putting random things into the movies. They do still have the job of creating the world, and sometimes to set the scenes, odd little inventions are needed. like the random animal sweets, though rather bizarre, they do set up that close relationship all the kids have after living toether for three years, and it was also a good visualization of the differences between life at the Dursleys and at Hogwarts. They've also added in little things that have other implications, ie Dumbldore putting out and relighting the candle. obiously it was a cool little moment, but also it showed how powerful he is to be able to do wandless magic. I also have faith in Jo, ecause I know she vetoed some of hte idea Alfonso Curan had, because they would never happen in this world, but also left the shrunken head in because she thought it was great(I think it's on the extra features where she says she loved that, and wished she had thought of it for the book).
I dunno, I guess I just give them more leeway because it's an enormous task, so they do the best they can

yeaaa....omg..i couldve died whn i saw POA though!!...but overall they do a decent job..not always great but fairly decent...however i wouldnt mind watching a 4 hour film...LOTR was about that long and people didnt complain much

I do wish they would make them a bit longer. I mean GoF was 2h40min so 3 hours isn't much more, and in that 20 mins how much more stuff could they have put in? thats at least one subplot

ya... LOTR was long but no one complained.. So why can't they make GOF longer?? *grousing* ~~
