I was very disappointed in the movie. Sure, some parts were great, but it wasn't the greatest movie of all time.
Likes: -the battle scene was done well -I loved how Crookshanks played with the extendable ear -Fred and George's escape -Minerva arguing with the b---- on the steps -WHen Umbridge fires Trelawney, Min tells Umbridge therea re more than a few things that she would like to tell her -Harry's " I Must Not Tell LIes" in the forest -Flitwick 's reaction after the twins leave
Dislikes: NOT ENOUGH MIN! HOW DARE THEY LEAVE OUT THE STUNNER SCENE! They could have left out just one of the Dumbledore's army meetings. -Dumbledore seemed a bit hars -THe movie changed too much -I didn't like that Cho was the betrayer

I finally saw the movie yesterday, and I guess I can only agree with most of the things that have already been said ...
I think the movie as a movie is quite okay, but there was nowhere near enough AD/MM or even just MM (or AD - even that would've been okay, as I have to admit that I'm slowly warming up towards Gambon a little bit ...He's still no Richard Harris and he'll never really be AD, but he was better than in the last two movies ...) ... As for Maggie/Min - I sooooooo hope that at least some of the deleted scenes will be with her ... I mean, it's almost an insult if they cut out an actress as good as Maggie ... And yes, she definitely read for his arm in that scene with Sybil ...

Like everyone else I was extremely disappointed with the lack of Minerva moments in this movie and gutted that they omitted the stunner scene as well as the "single-handed" comment. I understand cutting stuff from the large book but that made no sense to me at all. I would have gladly given up the Harry/Cho kiss and some of the DA bits if they'd only shown that! Otherwise, I thought it was a great movie...despite Gambon's feeble attempt to be Albus Dumbledore, though the fight scene at the end was impressive. However, I couldn't help but think how much better it would have been if Richard Harris had been alive to duel with Voldemort! Also, did anyone else notice the box of cereal on the table in the Great Hall (after Harry and Luna feed the thestral)? It looks like a box of Honey Nut Cheerios but it says "Cheeri-Owls"!

I saw it yesterday and agree with everyone here - it was a shame. There were some good scenes, we laughed a few times and I rather liked Umbridge and (surprisingly) Luna. But all that was funny in the book was left out and McGonagall was left out!!! I'd love to see the stunner scene, inspection and carrer advice but I couldn't believe McGonagall wasn't in Dumbledor's office when he left Hogwarts! A major shipper moment! I'm sure she touched Dumbledore's hand when walking with Trelawney to the castle. I'm not sure about something else, though. We only so the photo of the Order for a few seconds but there was a tall woman standing next to Dumbledore. Could it be McGonagall? I know she shouldn't be there but so many things are not the way they should be...

I know she shouldn't be there but so many things are not the way they should be... I didn't notice that! I can't wait to see it again (probably on DVD) to see what I missed first and, of course, to gawk over possibly the only shipper moment in the biggest (or one of the biggest...) shipper book- when she touches Albus during the scene with Trelawney

I don't think I've ever thought so little of a HP film. Where was Minerva? She had, what, four lines?A lot of the best bits in the book involve her,and she was barely in it! I thought the editing was terrible. We must have had about half an hour of Harry twitching about during his visions/Occlumency lessons.I know they're important but there are much better things happening than that! Dumbledore-again,what happened to him? To me,when he turned up when Umbridge was sacking Trelawney,he seemed to almost shout at Minerva-the way he said her name made me cringe, and I didn't like they way he was ordering her rather than calmly asking her to take Trelawney out. There was too much focus on Umbridge being a child torturer for me.I'd much rather have seen Harry's careers interview to emphasise her effect on the teachers as well as the students.
Minerva not being in Albus's office when he left made me really angry. And also, part of the reason they end up going to the Ministry at the end is because Minerva was transferred to St Mungos, so Harry couldn't tell her what was going on and didn't think Snape had taken him seriously! Instead it was like "I've had a vision,I don't care about proving it,let's go!"
I loved Minerva's hair in the scene after Mr Weasley's attack, but did anyone else notice she didn't say anything throughout the whole scene?Or did I miss something?
Hermione with Grawp was hilarious.
Jason Isaacs blew me away as Lucius. He was excellent. He makes a better baddie than Voldemort for me.And I thought Emma Watson was great. Daniel Radcliffe, sadly, does nothing for me.IMHO I just don't think he's very good.

Like everyone else, I was annoyed by the severe lack of Minerva footage. She and Umbridge really contribute a lot to the humor in the book, so the directors missed out on a lot. Everyone was great! I really liked Luna Lovegood and Umbridge was just like she is in the book. Even Michael Gambon did a good job as Dumbledore (for once--I hope he keeps it up!) although I still miss Richard Harris. My favorite scene was the following exchange in the Forbidden Forest:
Umbridge: (to Harry, in a pitiful voice) Please tell them [the centaurs] that I mean no harm! Harry: I'm sorry, Professor...I must not tell lies. (Umbridge gets dragged off) LOL
In fact, I seriously think those lines should have been in the book!
Other thoughts... It was unusually dark--something I'm expecting from the Book 6 movie more than I expected from this one. The way they showed the Dementor scene at the beginning was really interesting. I thought Uncle Vernon was more vindictive than usual. I'm noticing some people complaining about the lack of an angsty Harry, but I liked him so much better in the book. He doesn't go around yelling his head off, and this saves so much time and makes him a lot more tolerable and clear-headed. I think if JKR had done this in the book it would have been at least 100 pages shorter.
