I think her singing voice is alright. She can sing better than I can.

I thought it was really good. But then again, I don't really have much else to compare it to. Although I think I might be able to sing a bit better (no offense to Maggie, but ...) even though I hadn't heard the song before.

Her voice is alright - a million times better than me, (although that's not difficult) The video is hilarious. Why are they holding larosse sticks?

The vid is a clip from a movie and Maggie and the girls next to her are trying to motivate people to join the army and fight in the war.

It's all right. She'd sound better if she didn't sing in such a high register.

I agree with Diana. If she just sang naturally, without trying to make her voice higher, then she would sound a lot better!

I wonder how she sounds when she sings naturally. Like, actually in her vocal range. She sings in POMJB but its really light since the song is high.

I think of her as one of those people who talk when they sing.... I think she should just stick to acting.

Well she sings rather prettily in Othello. Only for a little bit, but it is rather nice. Not a singer-singer, but she sounds nice. I'm waiting for this clip to load...it may be a while before I can vote.

I think I'd like to throw my two cents in, in defense of the job Dame Maggie did on that film.
I've known a few people who played that part, and none of them sang it to sound pretty. They chose a character voice, as I'm positive Dame Maggie did. They wanted to sound like the character, not like a singer.
She speaks most of the song and when she sings it has a distinctive nasal quality but resonates in her sinuses, which isn't a natural place for nasal sounds to resonate, so I'd say she put it on.
As if it matters, though, because really she could walk on stage and rake her fingernails down a chalkboard, then walk away. I'd cheer just as loudly.

I simply adore Maggie as an actress. . . but not so much as a singer. I'm not talking horribly about her either because she is awesome. And I'm not even trying to say I sound great because I'm 100% sure she sings better than I do, LOL. I sound horrible when I sing. But, as for this video she may simply be singing the way they asked her too and not trying to sound beautiful. I know that she can hit high notes because I heard her do so in Jean Brodie.

I don't think she did pretty good for someone who isn't a natural soprano! (In fact I know what it's like!) I say she would be a better singer if she sang an alto kinda song! But that's my opinion as an alto!
