I know it is Friday, so dianahawthorne will present a new pic-spam, but I think nobody will mind to get the newest publicity-shot of Maggie in "From Time to Time" as an extra.... The film will be shown at the BFI London Film Festival in October...

It's actually a play - Noel Coward's "Design for Living".

Ahhh okay thanks I can usually tell such things but the pictures did not look as though they were from a play.

Today I 'ld like to share an observation with you that really made me quite grumpy... and for this purpose you get 2 pics instead of 1 *gg: Please compare the pic from the rehearsing (I love that one!!) and the one from the movie! *WTH* have they done to her hair in post-production or whatever??!! During the rehearsal it has such a beautiful colour... and in the movie :-(( Or is this just my imagination....?

I guess they did it to make her look older. Must have been done during editing, but I agree with you I love the color of her hair in the first pic!

Well Minerva's hair is black . . so they probably wanted gray in order to be close to the black and maggie keeps her hair that pretty reddish color so it just really wouldn't have worked for the role. But that's okay because I think she looks pretty no matter what hair color she is sporting.

Oh I always thought it was the lighting that made it look like that. Her hair's always been grey in the movies though. It was brown with grey flecks in the first movie and has just steadily gotten lighter.
Great picspam!

Well it is true that her hair has been gray for the duration of the movies. But, I think sometimes she dies it. It may very well have been the lighting too . . but it's a little too reddish for just the lighting I think. Oh well, I just hope that I look that good when I'm in my 70's, hehee.

I know we just did a V.I.P.S. picture yesterday, but look what I found last night! Oddly, their love affair -- with Mangrum unaware of Miss Mead's love for him -- is more touching than the Sturm and Drang of the Taylor-Burton relationship. The intensity of Rod and Maggie's on-screen relationship led several people who worked on the film to conclude that they were really falling in love. From a 2003 Vanity Fair article about Rod Taylor. And a quote from Terrence Rattigan (the director of The V.I.P.S.) about yesterday's picture (from the book It's Only a Move Ingrid, by Alexander Walker): I had rather carefully described her as "in her middle 40s with thick-lensed spectacles and a nose that becomes unbecomingly red at moments of emotion." The final kiss from her employer was intended as a humiliation. He went for her lips and slipped up to her forehead, thus telling her and the audience ... that bed just wasn't on. ... MGM made [director Anthony Asquith] shoot it both ways ... and obviously they chose the shot which would go down best in Little Rock, Freetown and Manila.I don't know about you all, but I am SO GLAD that they went for the cheesy, romantic ending LOL!

Adorable-ness! Mags is always so cute... <3 romance! And I also wanna hug her with that adorable grimace-y smile in the Minerva dancing with Ron pic. Just as a random observation, Maggie always has really nice hair...
