OMG I *love* that moment, it's such a loving smile! I also swear that right after that he reaches for her hand under the table. You can't tell exactly where his hand goes because of the dratted table but it looks like he at least pats her on the hand. It always makes me squee. BTW, I'm going to buy the third movie tomorrow but can anyone who has it already confirm the hand holding at the Quidditch match?

On the POA dvd, there is the deleted scene with Minervas hair down.....it is such a long scene and Maggie is wonderful, I am most displeased they didnt include this in the film because it was such a big part of Minerva.
As for the holding hands scene, from what i can make out (I had my nose up against the screen) Minerva's hand is resting on his arm.
(off to go and watch CoS SO I can see the smile)

Yeah, I love that moment too. *sighs* Unfortunately, we have still have to wait a couple of days before we get PoA on dvd here. Can't wait to see everything. But I think I already saw a picture where Minnie has her hair down. Hugs, Rikki

Yes! That one is excellent as well. Also, when they walk to the door with Harry her hand is on his back for a bit. Hmm, she does touch him a lot doesn't she.... And I so love the way she's looking at him during the welcoming feast in PoA, but you sort of have to watch really carefully, zooming helps if your DVD does that since she's in the background. But it's such an "I adore you" smile. Oh, all of this puts me in SUCH a good mood. Keep 'em coming ladies!

I have this A-B feature on my DVD player that allows me to play one section over and over.. I did that to the section during quidditch. You can see her hand move onto his arm. (Wow I'm just a bit obsessed )

Nothing wrong with being obsessed Melly, we all are. JKR does consult with them on the films a bit, I think less and less for each one, but you're right surely she would tell them that it wasn't right if they were touching each other so much. My theory goes like this: Everything in a movie is planned by the director. I mean the actors have to create their own reactions but if they were doing something out of character or something that didn't fit the film they'd be told not to do it that way. You know? So I feel like somebody at some point would have told Maggie Smith to stop touching Dumbledore so much or looking at him so adoringly all the time if she wasn't supposed to. (I say Dumbledore instead of the actors because it happens in all three movies.) Does that make sense? The powers that be must at least think they're close and that she's supposed to smile and get all dreamy eyed during his opening talks or she wouldn't be doing that. I do love the way she's looking at him in the beginning of PoA.

Albus: *whispers* Actually, my dear, I don't mind it at all... Minerva: Yay. Albus and Minerva: Director: My creative vision! Ack... *dies* Shippers: WHEEE!!!! YAY!!! Shipper Par-tay: *happens* THE END!!

Lol! So true Since this thread doesn't have too many book ones I just love the really obvious shipper moments like The Hot Chocolate scene, 'He will not be single-handed', 'Dumbledore would have been happier than anyone that there was a little more love in the world' *Sigh*

I think she has her hand on the table and he pats her on it. I noticed it the first time I saw the movie and couldn't believe my eyes. The way they look at each other is so cute

*squee* This discussion makes me so happy. I love every movie/book moment that they are together, but that scene at the table is one of my favorites. I also love the book moment when he starts to tell a joke to the entire school and she stops him, too cute.

*squees incoherently at the almost-canon shippiness* I annoyed my brother the first time I saw the bit at the end of CoS. He had to rewind the dvd because I wouldn't tell him what it was. He found out and I got to see it again. So everyone was happy.

Whenever my interest in HP starts to slow down, I think about that and I get so excited! And not just about ADMM, I keep wondering who else might have a spouse. I think some of the other professors like Flitwick might have spouses that we only ever hear about and never meet.

I'll find a link to that quote... www.accio-quote.org/themes/book7.htm This link will bring you to this statement: "A few of the Hogwarts professors have spouses, but the information is restricted – we’ll find out why! [BBC Red Nose Day chat, 2001]" www.accio-quote.org/articles/2001/0301-bbc-rednose.htm#spouseThis link will bring you to the Q&A..."Have any of the Hogwarts professors had spouses? JKR: Good question - yes, a few of them, but that information is sort of restricted - you'll find out why.."

I hope she is coming to that in book 7. I've been wondering whom she means. I don't think Snape is married, Hagrid isn't for sure and other professors besides Dumbledore and McGonagall are not that important. Not that they couldn't be married but we usually don't get that much info about less important characters. Maybe Lupin is going to get married but it looks like she meant the professors that have been married for some time.
