The usual drill. Characters and places belong to J K Rowling. Some nonsense I came up with last evening and decided to share on a whim.
It was a lovely April day and the students and staff of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry were making good use of the fantastic spring weather. Kites were flown and all sorts of outdoor activities were under way. It was on days like these that the headmaster of this fine institution, Albus Dumbledore, would take a walk around the grounds to clear his head. The need to do so had become more prevalent then ever since the return of Lord Voldemort. As he approached the school Albus slowed to take in the pleasant sight before him. A group of students had assemble to go off to Hogsmead under the watchful eye of the professor of transfiguration and Gryffindor head of house Minerva McGonagall. This in itself was quite commonplace. It was the manner in which the professor was dressed which surprised and pleased him. "She must have lost another bet with Xiomara Hooch," Albus mused.
***** How had she gotten herself into this? What had possessed her to agree to anything that madwoman suggested? She must look very foolish - she certainly felt that way. All of these thoughts floated about Minerva McGonagall's head, locked in a battle of supremacy with those of the weather and the task at hand. "What will he think," was the idea that was first on her mind at the moment. She tried and failed to shake the thought from her mind. All she had wanted to do was go shopping.
That had been the plan when Minerva McGonagall and her longtime friends Xiomara Hooch and Pamona Sprout visited Diagon Alley the weekend before - shopping and perhaps a snack at Minerva's favorite tearoom. She sould've known something was amiss when Xiomara of all people suggested they go look at some of the new robes in one of the shops that lined the narrow street. That had started this little project and two hours of fussing and arguing later this was the result. A set of crimson summer robes which, though not overly revealing, were guaranteed to turn some heads. The bodice hugged Minerva's rather large breasts and slim waist while the skirt was full and was made out of a very light, flowing silk. Every curve of her slender body was accentuated perfectly. Xiomara had even gone so far as to fix Minerva's hair. She had put Minerva's long black hair up in an intricate design and, instead of tucking the ends in, she left about eight inches of shining ebony hair to fall down the back of her neck. She'd even curled it a little. With the addition of some lipstick she had pushed Minerva out of her own chambers saying "Knock 'em dead Min!"
She looked lovely, but she felt terrible. She did like the robes very much, but she had no desire to draw so much attention to the fact that she wanted to look special for someone. After all, the level of respect the students had for Madame Hooch had always been questionable but Minerva McGonagall was a head of house; if the lost their respect for her... Maybe Xiomara had been right and it was "time to take the plunge," and show him "what he's been overlooking for years," but it didn't seem that way to Minerva. She had a very bad feeling about all this.
"Bloody Hell! Is that McGonagall?" Ron Weasley's voice could be heard above the crowd as those now gathered noticed the drastic change in their professor's attire. All of the students began to murmur and giggle and Minerva felt like she was back in school. This was very awkward. She had been right, this had been a bad idea and, rather than getting the reaction of the man she'd loved secretly for ages, she was being gossiped about by a bunch of students. "Maybe she's got a man she's meeting," one girl said. "I highly doubt that," Draco Malfoy replied from a short distance away and loud enough for Minerva to hear. "Just because she's wearing nice robes for a change doesn't mean she isn't still a bitter old bat. Who would ever want to be with her? That's like an eternal detention." A very few students laughed. Eternal detention - is that what life with her would be like - a punishment. Minerva had never let the comments of students bother her but that one did hurt. "Mister Malfoy!" she said with a raised voice and as she turned to face him she thought "This can not get any worse," but the spring breeze had other plans for her.

Malfoy has a big mouth and no tact at all. Great beginning to this story. I am looking forward to reading more of it. Please let Min do something nasty to Mr. Malfoy. I know she won't turn him into a ferret, but one can hope.

nice beginning, but I sorta hope Albus puts Draco in his place. Of course that might embarass Minerva, but at least there would be romantic sentiments. Update soon.

God how I detest unfinished work. It is with that in mind that I give you the second part of Spring Breeze. I do appreciate the positive feedback. By the way, this is my first fic. Anyway, back at Hogwarts ...
Albus Dumbledore stopped a fair distance away from the students and their professor under a tree in order to take the time necessary to admire her without being too obvious. She really did take his breath away. Minerva had never been one to wear red, preferring dark greens and the occasional tartan. She had always said that it made her look "positively vampiric" due to her extremely pale complexion and raven black hair. Albus had always loved her in red - he loved her in everything. Even so, the sight of the woman he loved wearing such attractive robes in his favorite shade of red sent all sorts of thoughts running through his head.
He allowed his eyes to wander over her, his gaze stopping every so often on a point which caught his attention - the sunlight dancing on her hair or the sway of her hips as she walked for example. Albus let himself indulge in the thought of what it would feel like to hold her. Then Albus noticed something than made him want to hold Minerva for an entirely different reason - she was miserable.
Albus knew better than anyone else that behind the facade of cold sternness Minerva was a gentle woman who was more easily hurt than most people realized. She had been that way even in school - academically she was beyond compare, but when it came to social things, particularly those dealing with the opposite sex she would become so uncomfortable that she would come across as cold and dismissive. This shyness had unfortunately carried over into adulthood. Albus felt honored to be one of the few people Minerva trusted and she needed him now. Albus began to walk toward her again.
Albus was close enough to hear Draco Malfoy's comments and he saw the momentary change in Minerva's body language. She was hurt. "Mister Malfoy!" Minerva said with a raised voice. "I'll handle this if you don't mind, Professor." She jumped, startled and when she saw the way he was looking at her she could only respond with a nod. With Minerva's permission now granted Albus began to give Draco a firm lecture on respect and manners ending with "... and I will be deducting ten house points due to your lack of these qualities," He couldn't resist adding " and I happen to think that you professor looks lovely." Albus looked back at Minerva, who was speechless, and just as he was about to make mention of the delicate gold designs on the neckline of her robes and the way the breeze played with her hair Draco Malfoy could be heard again. "Detention! I'll bet I'll be serving it with McGonagall. What rubbish! She's so...." Albus turned and sent a glare Draco's way. It was met with a black stare and as Albus began another lecture he heard a very unfamiliar sound - a shriek from Professor Minerva McGonagall. He turned around and stared in disbelief at what he saw. The wind had lifted the back of Minerva's robes nearly to her waist.

I do apologize for taking so long. Anyway here is the next chapter. Thank you for the feedback again.
So there Minerva stood attempting to pull the back of her robes down far enough to cover her red satin panties while still holding the front of them down. She was having little success. There was no laughter, not a comment was made; silence had fallen over the group and no one made a move to help her. It really was a difficult call for the students. On one hand it was obvious that she needed help and the longer this experience was for her, the more upset she became. So someone should help her. On the other hand however was the fact that in order to help her one would have to hold her and touch her in a way which no one was able to bring them self to do. How does one justify practically feeling up their well respected and, in some cases, feared professor even in this circumstance. They'd be older than Dumbledore by the time they got out of detention. It was torture for her to be left the way, but not even the bravest of students could bring themselves to assist her. Albus was grappling with the same dilemma and then she looked at him and he saw in her beautiful green eyes all of her pain and embarrassment and he knew he needed to help her.
"Why will no one just put me out of my misery?" Minerva thought as she struggled in vain with her robes. "Why did I have to wear this? What am I going to do now? None of them will ever look at me the same way again. And Albus! Oh how will I ever be able to face him and....wh...what…what's this?" Albus had pulled her into his arms and was slowly and very gently moving his hands down from the middle of her back. “Forgive me, my dear,” he said as he pulled her closer to him and let his hands slip further down her back “this is the only way I can think of to help you.” A whispered “Oh!” was her only reply as his hands found their way to her bottom holding the back of her robes in place as much as he could. “Mister Malfoy, please inform Professor Snape that he will be accompanying you to Hogsmead today,” Albus said to the dumbstruck Slytherin boy, “Well… on your way then.” As Draco went to find his head of house Albus looked down at the woman in his arms. She had laid her head on his chest and was trying to hide her face. He couldn’t blame her – standing here in front of her students in the arms of the Headmaster who still had his hands on her bottom – poor thing. He was unaware that the wind had died down. Just then he felt her tense and inhale very quickly and heard some students begin to giggle and make comments. Apparently he had absent mindedly given her a little pat. He looked down again and his gaze was met by a pair of shocked and embarrassed emerald green eyes. Before he was able to babble out some form of an apology she was gone. It took him a moment to notice the tabby cat running into the castle. He ran after it.

I've been so busy updating "Joke Day" that I nearly forgot this fic. My apologies. I think it's time I stop torturing Minerva ... well, maybe.
Minerva ran faster and faster. She was going to her chambers and she was not going to leave until this feeling of utter mortification left her. How could he just hold her there like that and for so long? Why had he not released her after the wind died down and what on earth had possessed him to touch her like that? She was rounding the last corner on the way to her rooms when someone grabbed her. “Damn!” she thought and meowed her frustration and discontent as Albus picked her up and carried her to her door. “I believe we need to talk, my love.” Albus hoped that she was too angry to have heard him clearly. He was already well on the path to being hexed far into the future and he did not wish to press his luck with this woman who was known for her temper but he was also through with hiding his feelings for her. He had tortured himself with suppressed emotions for decades and he reasoned that that was long enough.
As they reached the door to her chambers Albus muttered the password, entered Minerva’s chambers and immediately went to her favorite chair. She was surprised when he did not place her in the chair as usual, but sat down with her on his lap. “I would like to speak to you. Could you please transform back so we might discuss this, my dear?” Minerva furiously glared at him. How could he … how dare he suggest such a thing. He knew what would happen. She hissed and bit his hand several times in response. “As you wish,” he said examining the small cuts on his left hand, “but I should warn you that I will hold you like this until you change your mind.” Within seconds it was not a grey and black tabby but a very angry Minerva sitting on Albus’ lap. “Are you happy now? Am I miserable enough for you now? Haven’t you made it clear enough to me how alone I am now and will always be? Let me go! If you don’t mind, I’d like to lock myself up here for the rest of the day and possibly the rest of my life - until this feeling of complete humiliation and loneliness passes. I have nothing to say to you right now,” a livid and hurt Minerva said as she fought to get off his lap. She was beyond astonished when he pulled her into an embrace. She was absolutely floored when he brushed his lips over hers for a kiss which was over so quickly that she wondered if it had even happened. "You will never be alone as long as I am here. I would like nothing more than to be by your side." He braced himself for her reaction.
And she said nothing. No word or sound left her lips and Albus’ hopes came crashing down before him. He could have handled her being angry with him. He could have handled rejection, but he could not take her silence. “I understand. I will leave you now, but before I go I would like to apologize for my actions and any discomfort they caused you.” Albus said and tried to get up, but Minerva didn’t get off of his lap. She leaned against him and rested her head on his chest. “Why did you do those things?” Minerva said as she played with his beard, “I mean there must be dozens of ways to keep my robes in place which do not involve such… such close contact and while we’re on the subject of close contact why did you pat my bottom? And that brings me to just now – why did you have me transfigure on your lap? Why did you kiss me? Why, Albus?” She was looking into his eyes and he knew it was now or never. He would either tell her now or live in silence. He took a breath and closed his eyes. “I did all of those things because I am in love.” Minerva’s jaw dropped. “I love you, Minerva McGonagall, and I have for quite some time now.” Once more he waited for a reaction.
Miverva felt a flood of emotions rush through her. She was elated. She was also at a lose for words, so she did the only thing she felt she could do in her present situation – she grabbed him by the robe and kissed him gently at first and then steadily increasing in intensity. “I’ll take that as a sign that you return my affections,” a breathless Albus asked after they finally broke apart. “Yes. Yes Albus, I love you. I’ve loved you since I was a student.” Minerva pressed herself as close to him as she could and wrapped her arms around him. “Perhaps we should continue this in the bedroom,” Albus suggested after a few more searing, passionate kisses. “Yes, Love, I agree,” Minerva said quietly and without a second thought Albus carried her to the bed where they laid together talking and kissing. They both agreed to wait to further their new relationship and were content with what they had for the moment.
“Where do you think they are?” Harry asked as he noted the conspicuous absence of the headmaster and his deputy. “She’s probably got him locked in a decade’s worth of detention for touching her bum like that,” Ron said as he took another mouthful of mashed potatoes. “In addition to the 5 years she’d give him for seeing her knickers,” Harry added with a smirk. Hermione just smiled. “What are you grinning about?” Ron asked with his mouth still full. “I was just thinking that I don’t think our headmaster would mind fifteen years alone in detention with Professor McGonagall.” The boys winched at her thought. “Come to think of it, I don’t think Professor McGonagall would mind much either.” “That’s disgusting!” Ron yelled “Besides, it would never happen.” Hermione just continued to smile. “Never say never,” she muttered.
