A/N: Ok...is everyone still there? Nobody toppled off? I hope so.
They managed to make it to her quarters. Somehow, they were both absolutely exhausted. The potions should have given them back their strength, not sapped it. Neither of them even considered anything else could be responsible. They just managed to crawl onto her bed before falling asleep.
“Xiomara Hooch!” Poppy bawled up towards the dot in the sky. What most people would have done would have been to grab a broomstick and meet her up there, but Poppy Pomfrey preferred to keep both her feet on the ground firmly at all times. The dot continued to make its patterns in the sky. Poppy knew that she would have a cricked neck and sore throat by the time she came down so she sent a message. Xiomara nearly fell off her broom as the clouds rearranged themselves to read Xiomara Hooch, get down here this instant! She became suspicious when upon landing, Poppy promptly chained her broomstick to the ground. It quickly became clear that Poppy had had very good reason for this. “Xiomara, we have a crisis.” Xiomara looked longingly towards the sky. “Hmm?” Poppy explained. Xiomara was petrified before she had run two steps.
“No! No! No! I will fly my broomstick into the Whomping Willow before I tell her that!” “Come on, Xiomara, you’re the fastest runner out of all of us. Besides, we’re all in this together.” “I’m sorry, Poppy, but when it comes to an angry Minerva McGonagall, it’s every woman for herself. There isn’t a counter-spell, is there?” “No, Irma looked.” “But how does that work? It can’t just be mingling their blood. Otherwise, people would be dropping like flies.” “Apparently, the spell originally needed a bonding to work.” Xiomara stopped straining against the straps that held her down and slumped back against the bed. “A bonding.” she echoed glumly. “Yes, the spell drew on the energy of the bonding.” “And I suppose that our spell, the one that showed that they were soulmates, did that.” Poppy shrugged. “It must have done.” “How quickly can you pack? I think we should all go on a very long journey. How does trekking across the Himalayas sound?” “Absolutely ghastly. Besides, half the staff can’t just take off.” “Let’s wait for the summer then.” “I told you they’ve only got a week.” “So let’s wait for the summer and then the problem will have gone away.” “Xiomara Hooch! You don’t mean that!” Poppy was horrified. “No. But, honestly Poppy, how in the name of Merlin am I meant to tell them that they’re married and that they’re going to die in a week if they don’t-” Xiomara trailed off. “How does some Firewhisky sound?”
He was looking at her with such love in his eyes. Such awe, and respect, and adoration. She wasn’t sure who made the first move, but suddenly his mouth was warm against hers as she enjoyed the taste of lemon, just as she always…dreamed. Her eyes shot open and met his as they opened. This wasn’t a dream. She was kissing Albus Dumbledore. And he was kissing her back. And both their free hands were entangled in each other’s hair. His eyes opened and widened. She wrenched herself away, away from his lips, away from his eyes, away from his hair. He gave a cry of pain. “Oh, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, oh Albus I didn’t mean to.” “Didn’t mean to what?” he said softly. ”I didn’t mean to hurt you, I didn’t mean to ruin everything, I-” She was stopped by his finger on her lips. “Things are not ruined, Minerva. I will never allow my relationship with you to be ruined by anything or anyone. Did you mean to kiss me?” “No.” she whispered. She saw the pain cross his face before it was buried. She made up her mind. “But I’m not sorry I did.” She prayed she hadn’t been mistaken. Then she saw the awe, respect, and adoration in his eyes and knew it was mirrored in her own eyes. He pulled her towards her and kissed her deeply. “I love you, Minerva.” She did the only thing she could think of to stop herself running to the top of the Astronomy Tower and screaming it, she kissed him again. “So things not ruined, then?” “Not ruined at all.” “I love you.” The words tasted so wonderful. He cupped her face in his hands and placed light kisses all over her face. Neither of them noticed. She murmured it in his ear, simply for the pleasure of being able to say it, while her hands stroked his hair. And neither of them noticed. Their hands wandered and still they did not notice.
Xiomara Hooch opened an eye and immediately wished she hadn’t. The bright whiteness of the hospital wing slammed into her optic nerves like a brick wall and caused the same amount of pain. “Poppy?” she croaked. She immediately felt the cool lip of a glass vial at her mouth. She recognised the stench. She gave a quick thanks to whoever it was that had invented anti-hangover potions and sipped gratefully, ignoring the foul taste. Your tastebuds either got used to it or they died off. When she felt confident in opening her eyes, she saw Poppy Pomfrey and Irma Pince standing over her, both looking slightly worse for wear. “Thank Poppy. She was the one who made the journey to the medicine cabinet.” “While you two were still snoring away on my sitting room floor, I might add.” “What are you doing here, Irma?” “She came in. You don’t drink much, do you?” Poppy’s last remark was directed at Madam Pince. She shook her head and immediately wished she hadn’t. “Thought not. You were out halfway through your first bottle. Not that it was wasted. Xiomara saw to that.” “But if we were in your sitting room-” her memory of the evening was hazy “Why am I in the hospital wing?” “I had to move you to clean up. Don’t worry, I always hated that vase anyway. You gave me an excuse to get rid of it.” “Would that be that hideous monstrosity from your aunt?” Xiomara shuddered at the recollection. “Yes, thanks.” “Minerva has one like that.” Irma said thoughtfully. “Yes, my aunt bought her one too. She uses it as a target, she blows it to pieces when she’s angry…” Poppy trailed off and they all stared at each other in horror.
They finally caught up with Albus and Minerva outside the Great Hall, just before breakfast on Monday. They had been unable to find them all of Sunday. By then, the fear for their friends’ lives had overridden the fear of facing Minerva’s anger. And it took a lot to do that. “Minerva…Albus.” Poppy stuttered. “Hello Poppy. Good morning Xiomara, Irma.” Poppy took a deep breath. “Do you remember when you cut your hands-” Oh, just say it. I can’t bear the anticipation. Xiomara interrupted. “You’re married, it’s irreversible and you’ll die if you don’t sleep together within a week.” Oh Merlin. They all held their breath. In contrast, Albus and Minerva seemed utterly unfazed. In fact, Xiomara thought in amazement, was that…was that a smirk? “Oh, I don’t think that’ll be a problem.” Minerva said lightly and they turned to go into the Great Hall. The creak of the doors may have masked a few heavy thunks as jaws hit the ground.
The students paid no attention as their professors walked in hand in hand. The news about the spell had spread quickly. Albus let go of Minerva’s hand to allow her to walk up the steps ahead of him. The scrap of him pulling her chair out for her attracted their attention. She sat down and smiled at him lovingly. In the shocked silence that followed, two Ravenclaw students walked over to the Hufflepuff table and solemnly shook their co-conspirator’s hand.
A/N: And that is the end of Stuck On You. I hope you have all enjoyed reading this as much as I have writing it. Thank you to everyone that has commented.

Ah, you made me look like an idiot on the plane while reading this on my PDA. Too many places made me laugh - dragon pox line. porridge scene and the Fudge-letter-straight-into-the-fireplace line to start with. Loved Minerva's ending line and smirk. The story could have been absurb but you pulled it off with style. Thank you.
