A/N:: Even though I've got an essay that's due soon, this popped into my mind because of some really bad days I've had lately, so I put some of my own emotions into this.
FanFic 100 Challenge #:: 080- Why?- Why is Minerva crying?
Minerva did not notice when he allowed himself into the room, nor was she aware when he knelt down beside her. I broke Albus's heart to see her in this state, sprawled out in the middle of the floor, sobbing with her head in her hands. Instinctively, he pushed the tear-dampened hair out of her face. She jumped slightly at his unexpected touch, but as she looked at him even through clouded eyes, she instantly knew it was Albus. Without a word he pulled her tightly into his arms. The tears fell faster from her eyes. She was thankful that one person in the world cared so much about her. Albus rubbed her back soothingly until her crying had somewhat subsided. He wiped the tears from Minerva's eyes and flushed cheeks and kissed her softly on the forehead.
"Why are you crying?" he asked, taking her hands in his.
She shook her head. It was unlike Minerva to be unwilling to talk to Albus about anything, and he felt an obligation to simply be supportive of her.
"I don't know what to do," she said, appearing to be at a loss for words.
Albus understood. He knew she had been under constant stress for over a week now. Even the strongest of structures have a breaking point, after all.
Albus held her close, wanting nothing more than to help her, to make her happy once more.
"I'm here for you," he whispered in her ear.
Minerva pulled back to look at him, smiling through teary eyes.
"Thank you."
He smiled and nodded.
"Always."
