A/N:: I was almost beginning to think my muse would never come back to me. ;D Thank goodness it finally did. Too bad I can't seem to write anything longer!
FanFic 100 Challenge #:: 046- Star
Minerva stared out of her open office window into the clear night sky. A cool breeze swept over her body, sending a chill down her spine. She skillfully released her hair from its tight bun and shook her head gently, allowing her hair to fall naturally into place around her shoulders. Minerva looked up once more into the ebony sky and chose the brightest star she could find. She sighed deeply and closed her weary eyes, clearing her mind completely.
"I wish he thought of me as more than a friend... more than his Deputy," she said quietly as she opened her eyes.
She lowered her head, suddenly feeling very childish at her feeble attempt at wishing on stars. She knew it was useless, but what else could be done? It was senseless, she thought, for her to even ponder what it would be like if Albus felt the same way for her as she did for him.
"I know I can't make him love me," she said, not entirely aware that she was speaking aloud," But I just wish Albus knew how I felt..."
"Then why don't you tell him?" came a far too familiar voice.
Minerva turned and gasped when she found Albus standing only a few feet away.
"His answer may surprise you," he said, brushing a hand through Minerva's soft hair. "He may love you in return."
"Do you?" she whispered breathlessly?
Albus smiled before meeting his lips to hers.
"I do."
