A/N:: The idea for this fic was somewhat inspired by an episode of CSI, entitled "Lady Heather's Box," during a moment between Lady Heather and Grissom. This didn't turn out nearly as well as I had hoped.
FanFic 100 Challenge #:: 064- Fall (obviously I'm not doing this as the season, but who says it has to be referring to the season?)
Minerva McGonagall bit her lower rosy lip in an attempt to muster every shred of concentration she possessed. She was merely a chess move or two away from either losing to or triumphing over her opponent, employer, and dearest friend Albus Dumbledore. He watched as she squinted her eyes and then pursed her lips together as she pondered upon her next move. Feeling his intent stare upon her, Minerva shifted slightly in her seat. As she moved her chess piece, a somewhat victorious spark ignited in her eyes, which Albus, too preoccupied with Minerva's luscious lips, did not notice.
"Checkmate," Minerva said, looking up to meet Albus's eyes.
"Congratulations," he chuckled, not bothering to look away from Minerva.
"Albus, do you like my lipstick?" she asked as she pushed her square-framed glasses higher onto the bridge of her nose.
Leave it to Albus to stare at her for something so silly, she thought to herself.
"Pardon me?" he said, taken aback that he had allowed her to notice his stare.
Indeed, he had been looking at her lips. How could he refrain from it, after all? He wanted nothing more than to kiss her softly, to feel her creamy skin against his...
"You've been staring at my lips," she said.
"You have lovely lips," Albus replied, inclining his head to her, blue eyes twinkling wildly.
A smile began to blossom at Minerva's mouth. She slowly leaned over the table, moving closer, closer to Albus's face. He could see the reflection of himself in her eyes now. He felt as though he could have counted each of her long, dark eyelashes. Albus took a breath and, leaning into her, closed the gap between them by catching her lips with his.
Breathlessly, they fed their burning hunger for each other if only for a few moments, the forgotten chess pieces toppling from the table and crashing loudly to the floor.
THE END
A/N:: I haven't written anything with a nice kiss in it for a couple of stories now, so I thought I'd give you this. lol
