A/N:: This idea came to me as I sat upon a rock in the middle of a river, just like this one.
FanFic 100 Challenge #:: 028- Children
The hot summer midday rays of sunlight burst through the surrounding trees, illuminating the constant ripples of the rushing river. A shadow was cast over the water as a figure looked down into her altered reflection. Balancing easily and carefully, she walked from rock to rock until reaching a particularly large one in the middle of the stream. She sat down and, dropping her half-bare legs up to the calves in water, grimaced slightly as algae from the rock slid against her feet. She leaned back into the fresh blowing wind, her loose locks of long ebony hair whipping into her face. Gently she placed her slender fingers into the river and skimmed them through the water. She laughed softly at the feel of the water swirling over her hand as a certain childlike sparkle, which none denied as being an influence contributed by none other than Albus Dumbledore himself, shone in her emerald eyes. She turned to look over her shoulder and, giving him a lovely smile, waved merrily.
"She's so much like you, Minerva," he said with a chuckle, pulling his wife into his arms as he waved back at his daughter.
"And you," Minerva smiled as she waved to her.
Albus felt his chest swell with pride as he watched their daughter, a carbon copy of Minerva with distinct undeniable traits of himself as well. He kissed his wife and took her hand to lead her towards the river.
"She's perfect," Albus whispered into Minerva's ear. "Just like you."
THE END
A/N:: Toothbrush, anyone? lol And no, I don't plan on keeping my writings this short again.
