Here's the story!
Summary: Albus takes Min to see Wicked and his thoughts change about her.
Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts, was walking down the hall to see his long time colleague and best friend Minerva McGonagall. It was her birthday today and he wanted to give her his gift.
He came to the portrait in front of her rooms and spoke the password(tartan tabby) and went in. Minerva was sitting at her desk grading essays written by her fourth year students.
"Now, Minerva shouldn't you be out instead of grading papers? It's your birthday today, shouldn't you have plans?" Albus said,which was a bad thing because Minerva looked up slowly with a piercing look in her eyes.
"Albus Dumbledore, do NOT tell me what I should be doing!! If I choose to work on my birthday then I will!" she yelled furiously at him.
"Well what if I told you that I was going to take you to see the play you have wanted to see for weeks now?" He replied with a bright twinkle in his eyes.
Minerva knew exactly what he was talking about. He was going to take her to see Wicked!
" Oh Albus, you didn't. Just for me?!" Her anger subsided as her eyes sparkled and her mouth curved into a smile.
He just smiled and took her hand as he pulled a bag of sweets(a port key) and they traveled quickly to New York.
Once there Albus gave the tickets to the man standing at the door and proceeded to walk Minerva up the stairs to the balcony.
"Oh my,Albus! The balcony and the original Broadway cast with Idina Menzel as Elphaba and Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda!! This is the best present anyone has EVER given to me. Thank you!" She said excitedly as she wrapped her arms around him.
He just laughed and hugged her back, happy that she was so excited but sad that her hug will be nothing more then from a friend. They let go with a blush on their cheeks and watched as the actors came on stage. Albus tried to watch the play but was more interested in watching Minerva. He brought himself to look away at one point so she wouldn't see him.
ALbus saw a green witch, probably Elphaba, with her lover later to be known as Fiyero. At this point Fiyero was leaving without telling Elphaba where he was going. This reminded Albus of when he left for the Ministry and Didn't tell Minerva. Anyway, A few moments later Elphaba got word that Fiyero was dead.
'Maybe this is telling me something about Min.' he thought as he looked at his secret love. For the rest of the show Albus couldn't stop thinking about Minerva and how he was finally going to admit his love for her.
After Wicked ended Minerva stretched in a cat-like manner and smiled at Albus.
"Thank you so much Albus." She said.
"Minerva," he started, "I know that I might not have much more time on this Earth and..."
"Albus, please don't talk like that. Not today." Minerva interrupted sadly.
"Please let me finish Tabby. I don't want what happened to Elphaba and Fiyero. I don't want to go without telling that I love you. I have loved you for many years now but didn't tell you because I knew you wouldn't return my feelings. I just don't want anything to happen without you knowing." He finished and avoided her eyes. She lifted up his chin to look at her tear filled eyes.
"Oh Albus you don't know how long Ive been waiting for you to say that. I love you too." She smiled through her tears as he reached up and wiped them away. He leaned in and pressed his lips to her soft ones and she responded eagerly in the very first but not the last kiss.
