I'll stay at home, and comfort my poor scared dog as the neighbours let off fireworks at midnight, then I'll kiss my boyfriend, and think about all the resolutions I didn't keep last year, make them all again, then break them all again. Oh that rhymes. It may sound dull but I like a quiet life, and that really does sound dull. Happy New Year Everyone.

I'm staying at home (Colorado Springs, Colorado) with my Mom, brother, and sister (my dad's in Iraq), and we're having our neighbours over too. We'll probably play Guitar Hero until midnight, when we watch the ball drop, when we then sing "Auld Lang Synge".

Just staying at home and talking to my friends. They make better company than my parents anyway.

What is this ball you all watch drop ? Is baffled.
In england the new year begins when Big Ben chimes midnight, on the final stroke.

Sylvadragon there is this big glass/light up ball in Time Square in New York City that ABC (and the other big tv networks i think) always have HUGE New Year's Eve specials about and it drops at midnight kinda like the Big Ben thing you were talking about.

This is going to sound extremley boring, I'm staying at My aunt's house because my grama lives there and my aunt is going on vaca so I get to take care of my grama. Oh well, but I'm going to have two or three friends over to watch the ball drop.

Lol, I was wondering about the same thing. *jealous* You all are so lucky, I wish I could stay home, tucked up in bed and read until the clock (no Big Ben here) announces new year ... unfortunately, I have to go to this HUGE party where I'll have to wear horrible "cool" party clothes and act "fashionably and lady-like" and wish everyone "with courtesy and kindness that befits a civilized soul" and interact socially with highly snobbish members of our social circle and silently wish I was at home when I hear all the girls talking about the cuteness of Edward Cullen and swapping i-pods to listen to the latest songs and giggling at the guys. Geez, I think I'm going to go nuts when I get back home (assuming I return without puking out my internal organs). Ooops, my mom's calling me ... hafta get ready for party-of-doom ... >_< Assuming I am still sane, I might come on here later to preserve the shattered pieces of my sanity. Obviously, I am not a party person.. Happy New Year! -Lee.

I'm not really a party person either (hence why I'm glad to be home).

Shudders I so hate partys espeicially that type of party, I find them utterly dull and long to escape, fortunately no one can make me go to partys anymore. I loathe wearing girlie stuff, and used to hate when my mum would dress me in this ghastly frilly blue and pink thing and drag me to partys, I'm happy to say that I haven't worn a dress in years and don't even own one.

Same here. My family dragged me to a Christmas Eve party like that, but luckily my best friend was there so we just hung around in the corner being anti-social. And eating. Mostly eating.

Oh man, don't even ask about that It was the worst way ever to spend New Year's Eve ... everyone was dancing for about 6 hours. Continuously. And as if that wasn't bad enough, they tried to force me too I really cannot figure out the whole idea of dancing ... especially if you don't know how. Though it did give me a fic idea where Minerva loathes parties ... ;D

I especially hate parties with dancing. I don't think dancing is that fun and I hate it people try to force me to.
So I can sympathize with you. Thankfully I don't have to go to a lot of parties like this.
