What Does My Heart Require?


What can I say
About you there's not much
With you, I don't know the day
There's laughter and smiling and such
I haven't a care
To me, everything seems so right
We'll sit around and play real life truth-or-dare
There's no goodbye, just goodnight
I need so dearly to tell you I love you
Your smile, your laugh, your every gaze
Every touch seems so familiar, yet so very new
We'll chatter and listen till I'm in a daze
What's it matter as long as I see your face
I'll stare until I tire
Which makes you so badly want to start and pace
And ask yourself what your heart does require
I wonder if you think the same
Yet some part of me screams you do
This wondrous feeling, I cannot tame
When I'm not around you I feel jittery and blue
Though I've just realized, I think I have known for quite some time
That when I'm around you, there is no world
It's just you and me, there's no higher to climb
Or any dream to fulfill, it feels as if I've managed everything life has hurled
