A/N: Little ficlet. Albus and Minerva take Dewey shopping just before her third year. Yes, I jumped forward ten years, Dewey. Deal. *grin*
"Dewey, no! You absolutely CANNOT have that dress...it's much too grown-up for you, seriously Dewey. Just...no. Final word."
"But...Mum!"
"NO, Dewey." Minerva turned away to look at some other dresses, especially one in tartan she particularly admired. There was also a lovely pink one, which was more...modest, that was perfect for her bebay.
"Dewey, come look at this one instead," Minerva pleaded. Dewey crossed her arms and shook her head. She meant to have the dress of her dreams.
"Tabby, I think we ought to let Dewey have her way just this once," Albus said, coming over to them both.
"ALBUS! I mean, come on, it's ridiculous! No sleeves, and look where the top of it is, no straps to hold it up even!" Dewey's brown eyes widened into the "puppy-dog eyes" look Albus could never resist. But he put a finger to his lips and waited until Minerva had turned away to hide the dress behind his back.
He went to the counter with Dewey by his side, and bought it before Minerva could resist him. When she came up to pay for her dress, she noticed what Albus had done. "You'll pay for that one, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore," she hissed. Albus' eyes twinkled. "I look forward to it, my dear."
