So guess who just got a call from a sligtly drunk suitemate who thought they'd share some funny news with me. Not caring that it was 2:30am. That I was sleeping. That I was hung over. That I had to get up at 4am for marching band, and not knowing just how depressing that news would be....(oh and did I mention my other roommate had suprise sexiled me to another bed room completely earlier in the night) The night started out so well too... Of all people for JKR to shove out of they closet....Why couldn't it have been Sirius  I actually wondered about DD/GG, but I thought it was just too ridiculous and all in my head.... oh, Hi by the way. I've lurking here for a while, and I actually made some attempts at fan fiction this summer under the same name. I'm normally not so negative, or hung over and grouchy. Goodnight. |

I KNOW! WHY OH WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE DUMBLEDORE? I wanted Remus/Sirius....I joined a few Grindeldore communities on LJ awhile back, but I never took them seriously...ADMM was my TRUE pairing. I NEVER thought in a million years Grindeldore would be canon.

I guess I'm the only one happy about this news... You're not the only one!  And as you said, we still have fanon. I actually love that he's gay (though, I'm still a big fan of Free Love Dumbledore. It seems more his style). I just wish she'd been more overt about it in the books. Or at least she had said so years ago. It would've made HP less like a heterosexuals only club. |

Hence, ADMM is still canon even though he's gay and she didn't love him.

Its not that i dont like gays, i do, i can tolerate them, i mean i go to an all girls school so its lesbian high in there, but gay is not Dumbledore to me =/

Rowling needs to take some time off and oh I don't know let's say swallow her words or maybe go back to school and read some good literature and see that really gay characters come shy in classics and she should well GET BRAIN SURGERY!

I would have been fine with JKR had it been set up well in the books. As it is, I say she can't change the books after writing them, and reading the books, its clear ADMM is correct. Forget the interview.

See, I don't really think the whole gay Dumbledore thing is something to be taken seriously. I wouldn't be surprised if a few years from now she changes her mind.
JKR has, many times in the past, changed her mind about how the story goes even though she has spoken about it in interviews. And seeing as how it wasn't even a formal interview, just an online chat where it might not even have been her speaking, I think ADMM is still safe and totally canon.

did'nt JK say this after the books were finished? sooooo... that means she might have been making it up for the sake of attention because her books had finished and she would'nt be in th headlines until she wrote another book but....... maybe she lost her muse and wanted something to keep readers talking for awhile instead of just fading away like a fady thing. Whoa that was a long sentence!
Still she should'nt have done it (i have nothing against gay but just for the sake of MMAD)
i'm angry with her now >:/

Yes, it was after the books were finished, I ttly agree with all of you, esp. mmadness4ever and Desdemona.
Oh by the way, I really don't think this thread was started for dicussing AD's homosexuality though, lol!
