A/N: I think this may be the first crossover fic on the board. Lies has graciously permitted me to write it. Minerva meets the Justice League and the Teen Titans!
"Great Hera!" A flash of golden light blinded the dark-haired, muscular Amazon Princess as she stumbled backward. She regained her composure quickly, but she stared down at the woman who had suddenly appeared in front of her. No one penetrated the wards of Paradise Island, where the gods protected them. But this woman was strange. Her black hair was twisted back in a bun, her dark green eyes framed by square glasses, something unknown to Diana, the Amazon Princess.
Diana continued to stare as the woman, who lay flat on her back, sat up and looked around her. "Let me help you," the Amazon offered quietly, extending her hand. "I am Diana, Princess of the Amazons." She pulled the stranger to her feet. "Now, who are you and how do you come to Paradise Island?"
"My name is Minerva McGonagall," the other returned, "but for as to how I came here, I'm afraid I don't know. I suppose my Portkey was damaged...I was meant to meet with a Wizard's Council..." She dusted herself off.
"Odd," Diana mused. "The gods protect us here from all intruders. Yet you bear the name of Minerva, a goddess. Were you brought here for a reason, I wonder?" She turned her back to Minerva for a minute and simply said, "Come with me." She led Minerva to the Temple of Hera.
"Great Hera," Diana prayed, "give me discernment and wisdom, understanding and knowledge, to find why this newcomer has penetrated the home of your daughters, the Amazons."
A faint light surrounded Minerva as Diana finished her prayer, and Diana turned to look at her. A smile crossed her lips. "Wisdom. Of course...Minerva." She turned to Minerva. "What troubles you? I sense fear and great sadness weighing heavily on your heart," she said, taking Minerva's hand.
Minerva shook her head slowly. "The dark wizard Voldemort threatens the existence of wizardkind, and not only wizards, but Muggles as well...all the world." Her voice choked on the word "Voldemort" but she managed to say it.
Diana's eyes narrowed. "A threat on the existence of the world?" She knelt before the golden image of Hera once more, where a golden rope lay coiled beside a golden headband with a red star on the front, and two wristbands. She slipped the bands over her arms, put on the headband, and picked up the golden rope, tied in a lasso. Concentrating, her Amazon costume changed slightly, and her eyes were set in determination. "If the world needs saving, I, Diana, declare it my responsibility to assist."
Minerva watched this transformation in awe. "Do you, Diana?" she asked. "Yes," said Diana, her jaw set. "I am Wonder Woman, and good shall prevail."
Grasping Minerva's hand, Wonder Woman bore her through the air effortlessly. With her free hand, she touched a communicator attached to her hip, and before long a green light surrounded Minerva, and Wonder Woman released her grip. Minerva remained airborne. "Thanks, John," Wonder Woman said to the newcomer, a tall black man dressed in a green outfit. He wore a ring from which shone a powerful green light. This was what surrounded Minerva. "No problem, Diana. Green Lantern's glad to assist," he answered.
His communicator was in his other hand, and as it went off, he spoke into it. "Green Lantern here. Yes, there's trouble. Wonder Woman and I are headed for Justice League HQ. Round up the others, Shayera. Thanks. Green Lantern over and out."
Green Lantern and Wonder Woman escorted Minerva past the reaches of Earth's atmosphere and out to the headquarters, locked in orbit, which Bruce Wayne had commissioned. They entered and waited. "John, you can let her go now," Diana reminded him. He turned off his ring and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Good. It's really hard to keep that thing goin'. It ain't no flashlight, Princess," he said.
Before long, Hawkgirl, Flash, and Martian Manhunter had joined them. They looked at Minerva curiously, but didn't say anything to her. Flash turned to Green Lantern. "So, buddy, where's Fearless Leader and the Bat?"
"Not here yet, Flash," John said flatly. "I can answer that," Hawkgirl said. "The Joker got loose again, and Luthor's making trouble. But they'll be here ASAP."
"Thanks, Shayera," John said to Hawkgirl. She blushed. "No problem, Green Lantern," she answered, with a playful grin.
