No joke this just came on the radio and it's insanely perfect for a Student!Minerva ADMM songfic! It's "Don't Stand So Close to Me" by Police, it's like, a million years old and it goes a little something like this:

I listened to some clips of it on itunes...I like the one w/ just Sting.
I don't like student!Minerva theories for ADMM, but this song is rather perfect for that.

I agree. Student Minerva and Albus stories creep me out. Besides, I don't think Albus would have an affair with a student. I like stories where they meet up later in the battle against Grindlewald or something like that.

I don't think he'd actually have an affair with her, I just think there was some mutual attraction and the WERE closer than just student/teacher, but that nothing actually happened between them. To all Min's friends dismay. ;D
Anyhow, that's why I thought this song was so fantabulous.
And I WILL read the odd Student!Min ADMM romance, but ONLY if she is at least 17 and in at least her seventh year.

Student!Minerva and Albus are fine with me, but nothing too... pedophile-ish. I like it more when they're friends. Or, what makes a plot really good, is when there's some hating, but then they fall madly in love, like, 50 years later... Sorry, am I way off-topic?

yeah, I love student minerva fics, so long as they don't cross the creepy line, which is complicated. like a friendship/cruch thing I can see at any age, but a relationship need to start later, but then again it can also be really interesting when she's younger, as long as neither acts on it till a bit older. ...well that made sense I think it comes down to the whole "good writer" thing we keep coming back to on the other ships thread...as lon as its well written, I can do it ETA I think I may be slightly skewed(sp?) because I have always had a thing for much older guys, so I could easily fall for an older teacher, and I see alot of min in me, so I translate it over |

I agree with tabbyhearts. I like the Student!Minerva/Albus fics.
Mainly ones where they're both struggling with their feelings but nothing actually happens till a few years later (after she's graduated) though.
I agree that this song fits with them. And I also think Hands Clean by Alanis Morissette fits them aswell:

I just can't imagine Albus actually having a relationship with a student, I just think he'd keep his feelings under strict controll, even if he even felt that way about a student. So I tend to imagine them as being very close as student teacher, with Albus being like a mentor to Minerva, and then they get together a few years after Minerva has left Hogwarts.
I do love the idea though of Albus first falling for Minerva on the night of her graduation ball.

Hello this is my first post I would like to say I'm so happy I found this site you all are wonderful writers and I just love MMAD I do think the teacher student thing is icky I think a bond is fine but and thing ealse is just not right. I heard this song the other day and I was like "wow this totaly sounds like them." I'm gonna say Take That = Rule The World, just sounds so magical and reminds me of Dumbledore's eyes so idea of way looks to Minerva or what Minerva see's looking at Dumbledore and his twinkling eyes also fact lyric "Lighting up the sky tonight" i just picture them together in the great hall under the enchanted celling (at dinner possibly lol) |
