Harry's real parents

Hey everybody, this is the first time I've posted anything here so hang with me. I've always thought that Albus and Minerva were married and had kids. I'd like it if someone could write about what it would be like if Harry had been their only child and they had to give him up. No restrictions or anything like that, but I'd like a scene where they sit him down and tell him everything.

Let me know if this is a bad idea, I look forward to whatever anyone comes up with.

I'd love someone to write this story. I myself have tried a plot like this half a dozen times, but I just can't do it anything near justice.

I'm glad you think it's a good idea! I've tried to write something like it several times but I can't seem to get it right. I was thinking maybe they gave him up because of the war or something like that. I'm good with anything though if someone wants to give it a shot. Thanks for replying!!

I haven't heard of it done before by anyone other than myself. I've seen plenty where they raised him after J+L were killed but none where they were his real parents, yet I've plotted several fics with a similar storyline (for me it's rather over-used).

I have one where he's their only child, another where he was the youngest and James the oldest so they were brothers, and a few variations where one was his parent and the other step. (I hope none of my regular readers are reading this or they may be spoiled!) It may sound like I've over-used the bunny but I've managed, somehow, to do every one very differently. I also have a couple of off-the-wall ideas such as a timetravel!Harry turning out to be Albus' dad, and one where they're half-brothers ... you get the idea. Sadly most aren't posted yet but I've started a few.

I can't break away from the idea that Harry's related to at least one of them, so in all the ones where he's not their son (or grandson in some cases, but I personally prefer the former) so most of the rest of mine tend to have Minerva as James' 2nd cousin or something just for the sake of it. *shrugs*

What can I say? I love those three together. End of story.

Thanks for replying!!! When I first posted this I wasn't sure I would receive any feedback at all. I absolutely love your fics especially EAGL and can't seem to get enough of Harry-Albus-Minerva stories.

I was thinking... in case someone might think they like it better... what if the story was about Hermione finding out they were her real parents...

Hermione's a good one because she's got a lot in common with both Albus and Minerva. I'd like to see one of them. I know if I tried to write one I'd end up having Harry in as well from force of habit, so I'd like to see someone else's attempt.

Ermm...I'll give it ago the second I finished my SIX other chapter fics (will SOMEONE remind me why I do that to myself!!!)
Anyhow I will do one - I think it could be cool - if anyone has ideas for a title that would be great. I can work from there.
Quick question - am I allowed to do whatever I want as in change the entire line of the books? Any guidelines at all would be fantastic.

I'm not that picky. I guess spoilers up to Ootp, no HBP. No offense to J.K. but I really don't like the ending. Dumbledore is my favourite character... sniff, sniff.

Okay - well it could be at least a fortnight until I get a chance. I just started another chapter fic (it was meant to be a one-shot but...got longer) and then I'll start this one. And I LOVE OOTP - its my fav and didn't like HBP either so that's all fine and dandy.
I just hope I can meet your expectations!

Yay!!! I can't wait to see what you write!!! I read a story with this same idea on ff.net a few days ago. It was really good, but I couldn't find it when I went back to read it again.

You could set the fic just after ootp, and minerva could come and tell harry/ hermione (whichever you want to use) but not tell Harry that Albus is his/her dad...

Or... you could set it during ootp and make the ending AU...

Or it could be earlier in the series... just nooooooo HBP unless it is very AU... Please...

As I said before, I'm not too picky and very thrilled that you are willing to give this a shot. PM me if you would like other ideas or a beta reader...

Hm..it sounds good..but Minerva is in her 70s and Albus is... old enough to be her grandfather
it isn't possible...but I red something great'a tabby and her kit' MM takes HP from dursleys, quits job and rises him, he calls her"Ma' it's a great fic, Hookh tries to get M, A tokether...its awsome!
