**Skitters in, robes fluttering and hair a mess**
Wait! I have one too!!
Anything for Love
A/N: Very slight lemon warning.
Also, I’d just like to say that stories like this are the reason it’s dangerous to give me Disney music, plot bunnies, and sugar at 1:00 in the morning. Wow. *is overcome with giggles and falls on the floor*

“Oh my,” murmured Minerva McGonagall. “This is indeed amusing.” Softly she chuckled as she flipped through the pages of the romance novel that one of the Gryffindor sixth year girls had left in the common room. She glanced nonchalantly over the pages and stopped randomly on a scene and read it.
“The lovers soared high into the air, pushing the broom faster and faster. The cool night air rushed past their faces as Penelope reached forward, unclasping the cloak that covered the broad shoulders of her beloved. ‘What are you doing?’ Gar cried. Carefully, the girl climbed beneath his arm and slid around his waist, straddling his thighs on the broom. Gar moaned as he wrapped his free arm around her waist and kissed her mouth.”
Minerva stopped there for a moment and smiled. The scene continued to detail how the lovers proceeded to somehow manage to make love mid-air on a broomstick hurling across the night sky at who-knew what speed. She hoped whatever young lady had been reading this wasn’t getting any ideas from it. Minerva was about to continue reading when she heard a knock on her door.
Quickly, Minerva shoved the book beneath the cushions of the settee she was occupying and called, “Come in!” It didn’t surprise Minerva in the slightest to see Albus Dumbledore at her chamber door. Looking at her pocket watch, she noted that it was time for she and Albus’ weekly chess match.
Half an hour later, Albus looked up from the chess board and gave Minerva a mildly irritated look.
“You’re letting me win, Minerva,” Albus muttered as he swiped one of her pieces.
“I am doing no such thing. Your skill has always outmatched mine,” Minerva replied.
“Nonsense. What was that book you were reading when I came in?” Albus returned.
“It’s your move. It was a book I found in the Gryffindor common room. I imagine one of the sixth year girls had left it there,” Minerva bantered.
“Knight to E5. So you simply took it?” Albus mused, collecting another piece.
“I only intend to borrow it, Albus, in hopes of teaching the owner of the book not to leave her things lying around. In the meantime, the material is rather amusing,” Minerva said. The excuse didn’t phase Albus in the slightest.
“Amusing you say? Rook to F7,” Albus continued, suddenly fascinated by what Minerva could have found so amusing.
“Yes, I found one scene in particular to be quite impossible to physically accomplish,” Minerva murmured.
“Oh really?” chuckled Albus.
“You don’t believe me?” Minerva countered.
“My dear, we are wizards. There is very little that can be considered physically impossible,” Albus replied. Minerva was quiet for a while. Was Albus mocking her?
Albus sat back contemplatively for a while. He knew Minerva McGonagall too well to think that she wasn’t fascinated by the small volume of literature stuffed beneath the couch cushions. Without a word, Albus rose and went over to the couch.
“Albus, what are you doing?” Minerva demanded. She stood and made a move to prevent him from going to the couch but it was too late. He already had the book in his hands and was reading the scene that Minerva had conveniently left it on. A smile twitched across Albus’ face as he read.
“What, pray tell, is so funny?” Minerva grumbled.
“Do you really think this is impossible?” Albus said, that familiar twinkle in his eyes.
“One’s balance on a broomstick is a delicate thing. One wrong slip and both passengers would be plummeting to the ground,” Minerva replied.
“But with practice—” Albus began, but his ever-persistent deputy cut him off.
“Practice my hind foot! It’s stupid and quite frankly more dangerous than its worth. Romantic…certainly! Until someone is paralyzed or killed! Futhermore…” Minerva stopped herself at this as she noticed that Albus had come much closer to her. It only took Minerva a matter of seconds to realize that she had subconsciously backed against the wall as Albus approached. Minerva gulped and looked up at the man before her. Her heart was thudding painfully against her ribs and she feared that if Albus stood any closer, he might actually hear it.
“What would you do if I kissed you right now?” Albus murmured.
“Do you even *want* to kiss me right now?” Minerva gasped.
“I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t,” Albus whispered quickly, nearly cutting off the end of Minerva’s question.
“I need you in my life, Minerva,” Albus said softly. Minerva lost her breath. Her eyes welled with tears and she closed them in an effort to hide the longing in her soul.
“Oh, Albus, you and your timing…” Minerva whispered hoarsely.
“Have I been beaten out by another?” he asked bluntly. He seemed to honestly want to know. Minerva shook her head.
“I’m afraid you’ve managed to surprise me…I wasn’t expecting this…” Minerva stammered. Lightly she sniffled back her tears and finally opened her eyes. They shined with tears as she looked at Albus and he took her face in his hand, brushing her cheek with his thumb.
“Do you love me, Minerva?” Albus asked. His eyes betrayed everything in his heart. He was pleading for her. For Albus, the signs had all been there. She had all but said it. For a moment, Albus thought she wouldn’t answer but then she swallowed and once again forced herself to look at him.
“Yes. I love you. A thousand times I love you. I don’t know how I got along without you in my life,” Minerva replied, her voice thick with emotion. Albus proceeded to wrap his arms around her and kiss her, drinking deeply of her lips. He pulled back and looked into her eyes, cool as October skies and smiled softly. He could feel her heart pounding and could hear his own as it thudded against his sternum.
“I’d like the chance to prove your hypothesis wrong,” Albus said semi-breathlessly.
“What?” Minerva murmured, still a bit dizzy from the sensation of the kiss.
“You said that to make love on a broomstick was impossible. Are you willing to take a chance with me?” Albus murmured, kissing Minerva’s jaw line and then her cheek, inching his way around her lips. As if by instinct, Minerva turned her head and met his lips, shivering at the soft moan he made at the touch of her hands on his chest.
“But, it would be so dangerous,” Minerva replied, breathless from their latest kiss.
“Do you trust me?” Albus asked as he summoned a broomstick from the corner of the room.
“Of course I do, Albus, I trust you with my very life but you don’t usually suggest such irrational activities,” Minerva said.
“Up,” Albus commanded and the broom rose into the air at a level high enough for them to sit on it. Minerva cautiously joined Albus as he mounted the broom. She wasn’t completely certain this was going to work, but for some reason, she couldn’t explain why, but she needed to do this. Just this once. Just for tonight. Take a risk. Do something extraordinary that she would always remember.
Soaring out the tall, wide open windows, Minerva shivered as the cold air rushed around her and loosed her hair from the confines of its bun. They reached a cruising altitude up in the low-lying clouds before Albus reached for Minerva’s hand.
“Minerva…can you do it? Can you get around me?” Albus called. Minerva thought for a moment. She wasn’t completely secure with the idea of sliding around Albus’ waist. Seconds later, she thought of it. Reducing herself to a sleek silver tabby, Minerva crawled over Albus’ shoulder and dropped into his lap. Returning to human form, Minerva wrapped her arms and legs around Albus and kissed him soundly on the lips. Unprepared for the assault on his senses, Albus let the front of the broom slip and they dropped several feet. Minerva gasped and shrieked but Albus held her fast and pulled the broom back up to level.
“I told you this was dangerous…” Minerva whimpered, but it was only half of a complaint. She was already beginning to feel the evidence of Albus’ state and at his encouragement, she continued her foreplay.
Wait! I have one too!!
