Minerva McGonagall was patrolling the corridors of Hogwarts one night when she noticed Albus Dumbledore walking in her direction. She ducked behind a statue and watched to see where he was going.
He walked right past her, apparently fast asleep. This was very strange...She followed him at a safe distance, not wanting the Transfiguration Professor to see her. She didn't want to risk her Prefect badge...
********************************************Professor McGonagall woke with a start. "Still having that dream, Minerva?" she laughed to herself. It had happened many years ago, and she still felt embarrassed at the memory of what had happened next...Minerva got up and walked to a small chest across from her bed, where she had a private stash of Chocolate Frogs and Chocolate Frog cards. She unwrapped one, and stared at the card. Albus Dumbledore. That wasn't surprising; over half of the cards she had were of Albus. She knew his card by heart, and so, without looking, she lay the card down on the pile. Slowly, she savored the chocolate, recalling the first ever card she'd gotten of Albus, and slowly drifting back into her memories...
********************************************
"Miss McGonagall? Are you all right?" Albus Dumbledore knelt by Minerva, who had collapsed from exhaustion on her Prefect rounds, fallen on top of Albus, and woken him. Albus had been sleepwalking, and it was rather a rude shock to find himself sprawled on his back with fifteen-year-old Minerva lying on her back across his chest. He had carried her up to the hospital wing.
"Here, Miss McGonagall, eat this. It will help." Albus held out a Chocolate Frog, still wrapped, to the young Gryffindor. She took it from him, unwrapped it, and stared at the card, the image of Albus Dumbledore on the front. She looked from the picture to the real Albus Dumbledore, standing before her.
"Thank you, Professor."
"My pleasure, Miss McGonagall." They both smiled as they parted ways.
********************************************
Yes, Minerva was glad that she had literally fallen for Albus Dumbledore that day, and had married him twenty years later. She sighed, and smiled. Life was perfect. Plucking the Chocolate Frog card back off the pile, she kissed the picture and sighed happily. "Albus..."
