[ Author's Notes: This is my first AD/MM fic I've written, I've read a lot... But I've never written one of my own. I hope it's alright. This is also the first challenge in any sort of fanfiction I've entered. ^^; ]
Minerva Mcgonagall stood in her full glory, ebony haired tied back in a tight bun, emerald eyes gleaming. The young twenty-five year old Auror was currently within a hotel room she was staying in… Well, one portion of it. Albus was staying in this room and she in the room connected to it. Albus Dumbledore, was Minerva’s former transfigurations professor, and a rather close friend if she did say so herself. Currently the pair was working to thwart the last few of Grindelwald’s followers.
Minerva blushed as she searched through his things, currently she was looking for a book she had not been able to fit within her own bag, and Albus had kindly offered to place within his own. “Where is that damnable book?” a flash of her Scottish temper reared, and the young woman’s face was reasonably red.
There!
Pulling out something that felt rather like her book would, rectangular and hard, the woman pulled out the item… But it wasn’t her book… It was a jewelry box… The young woman blinked. What would Albus be doing with a jewelry box? Was he courting someone? Curiosity overflowed and the ebony haired female opened the leather box slowly. Within it was an old golden pocket watch with the initials of Albus’ mother, Blanche.
“Oh.” Minerva felt a blush rise to her cheeks, and she felt rather idiotic for thinking Albus was courting someone.
Turning her head to glance about her to make sure Albus wasn’t coming, Minerva noticed the room was a disaster. The pocket watch still in hand Minerva began to clean the room in quite the fervor, rushing from side to side. Placing all of his things back within the bag, she used a spell to zip it back up as she exited the room.
It took only a moment for Minerva to realize she was no longer holding the pocket watch once she was behind her own door. “Damnit!” The woman hissed under her breath, eyes widening. She’d lost her former professor’s mother’s pocket watch as she had been cleaning.
A knock resounded about her room and Minerva went to the door of the hotel room and glanced in the peep hole.
Albus…
And now there was no time to go back and get it.
Opening the door Minerva was greeted by a man with long auburn hair slightly grayed, who was nearly eighty years older than his companion entered the room. Albus smiled cheerfully at her, as was his disposition, “How are you Minerva?”
When the black haired femme did not reply straight away because she was lost in thought, Albus placed a hand on her shoulder, “Minerva?”
An ivory hand flew towards her heart, fluttering lightly, and Minerva blushed from the contact of his hand to her shoulder, “Oh! Albus! You gave me quite a fright!”
“I’m sorry, my dear,” Minerva blushed as Albus referred to her as his dear, “You just seemed rather out of it, and you hair is coming out of your bun… Here let me help…” Reaching behind her head, Minerva’s cheek was flush against Albus’ chest as he tidied her hair tightening the bun. She was glad he could not see her face, she was as red as a cherry.
“There you go my dear, now I have some wonderful news, the ministry says we can leave in two days, after the last trials are complete.” The male paused to straighten his robes, “But after the trials are complete, I was wondering if you’d like to take on a job at Hogwarts, we are in current need of a Dark Arts Defense teacher… Minerva are you listening?”
The young woman had regained the faraway look on her face, trying to figure out how to keep him from going into his rooms, “What!? Oh! Sorry Albus… I’m just not feeling well at the moment…” The young lady murmured, lying about not feeling well.
“Oh dear, Minerva, why not go to bed? I can leave you be if you want-”
Albus had started to move for his rooms but Minerva caught his arm, “Could you help me to bed and stay with me?” Feigning illness, the woman bit her inner lip, hoping he wouldn’t catch on.
The auburn haired male nodded and helped the young woman over to her bed, tucking her in. Soon Minerva had drifted off, not meaning to, just the worry had gotten to her. Albus glanced at her sleeping form and ran a hand over the soft pallid skin of her cheek, wondering just when he’d begun to love her… Highly inappropriate as it was, he still did.
Slowly he moved away, slipping into his own rooms, he noted something right away. Everything was not in the place it had been when he’d left in the morning. The bed looked like someone had been resting in it, which Minerva had done before she searched for her book, she’d lain there because she loved the way he smelt of sherbet lemons and chocolate and the bed smelt of it. A gleam of gold caught his eye on the edge of the bed. In her rush, Minerva had dropped the pocket watch there. “.. How’d this get out?”
Looking over to his baggage, he noticed a ring caught onto a zipper… Minerva’s graduation ring, a present from her mother to her… What had Minerva been doing in his room and in such a rush to leave that she forgot her ring? Perhaps she’d been looking for something.
Then it hit him like a ton of books that he always seemed to receive for Christmas, she must have been looking for that book he’d taken from her since she had not had enough room in her luggage… Yet why had she gotten out his mother’s pocket watch?
Shaking his head the male placed a hand against his temple. “I’ll ask Minerva when she wakes…”

Minerva felt a hand on her shoulder and looked into the twinkling blue eyes of Albus Dumbledore. ‘What a nice way to wake up…’ the young woman thought before a blush spread over her face. “Oh! Albus, you didn’t stay with me this whole time… Did you?”
The man shook his head and slowly held up Minerva’s graduation ring, and his mother’s pocket watch, taking her hand he slipped the ring back onto her finger. Minerva’s face had turned red as this happened, and tumbled out of bed. “I can explain Albus…”
Albus walked straight towards her and she stepped back, this continued until she was up against the door, his arms encasing her against the door. Before she could say anything Albus kissed her. It was a soft, gentle sort of kiss.
“Albus?” Minerva blinked.
“… It’s alright Minerva, I just want to know why you opened the box for my mother’s pocket watch, that’s all.”
The ebony haired woman blushed, “Well, you see Albus, I thought it was a piece of jewelry for someone you were courting…”
“Minerva!” Albus sounded scandalized, “You know very well I’m not courting anyone…”
The woman nodded and blushed even brighter, “Well… You see I wasn’t sure. I was slightly jealous by the prospect someone else had won your heart so I attempted to see what you had gotten her…”
Placing his hand over the younger woman’s heart, Albus smiled and shook his head, “You are the one that won my heart Minerva Mcgonagall.”
The ebony haired woman caught her breath within her throat, “Really Albus?”
Words were not used to reply, instead he pressed his mouth to hers. His tongue seeking entrance ran across her crimson lips, and soon entrance was granted. The kiss progressed for a good while, before both needed oxygen. Breaking apart the pair was blushing bright red and grinning. “Yum.. You taste like chocolate Albus.” Minerva mumbled.
Albus swept Minerva into his arms, forgetting about the pocket watch, she’d thought she’d lost. He’d found love and wasn’t ready to give it up. “I love you Minerva..” He mumbled into her hair.
“I love you Albus…” The young woman replied as he laid her on the bed and began to undress her.
The pair would find something much more valuable that night as they shared their love.
