I give in too easily.
Sitting quietly in the sitting room she shared with her husband Minerva was enjoying a peaceful afternoon with a good book when her beloved walked through the door.
“Minerva, let’s go see a movie in a muggle cinema tonight.”
“Albus, do you even know what movies are playing?” Minerva asked still reading.
“Yes. I have a list right here. You can even choose,” he beamed waving the list.
“Do you remember what happened the last time we attempted a muggle cinema?” Minerva replied still reading.
Albus moved toward Minerva, and stuck his face right in front of hers between she and the book. “Yes.”
“ALBUS!” she screamed jumping back.
“Now that I have your complete attention: yes I remember what happened, but unless you try how shall you learn? Here’s the list.”
Narrowing her eyes Minerva accepted the list while sending Albus a glare: he just smiled. After some time Minerva inquired as to what time he wanted to see the movie.
“I was thinking late afternoon.”
“That’s in an hour, Albus, but I guess we can do that. Of these choices I like When Harry Met Sally.”
“Wasn’t that the girl movie?” Albus asked in mild disgust.
“You said I could choose, so go get some of your muggle clothes and wear your hair and beard cropped this time.”
“Alright, alright,” Albus conceded moving to their bedroom mumbling, “Always bossing me around.”
Forty minutes later Minerva was stepping up to the window to pay for two tickets while Albus kept a protective hand on her waist as he eyed all the men looking in her direction.
“We are in theatre five, Albus. Do you won’t something to eat?”
“Yes, but there is so much to choose from…” Albus replied eyeing the candy, popcorn, and drinks.
“May I help you,” the bored looking teenage boy behind the counter asked.
“A small popcorn…no large and a large diet coke. No coke that has more sugar right?”
“Um, sure,” the kid replied rolling his eyes at the question.
“Well coke then my boy, and now to the sweets...gummy could be good but I have to have chocolate as well.”
“Sir the line is really long could you please make a decision or step to the side.”
“Ah yes it is rather long isn’t it?” Albus asked turning around. “Well that chocolate bar and some of those gummy bears. My dear do you want anything?”
“I’ll just eat some of yours, darling.” Minerva responded glaring at the boy for being, in her opinion, rude to Albus.
Once in their seats Albus discovered his was broken, so they had to move. Several people sighed as they went by, and Albus looked apologetically at them as he passed. Settled once again Albus tried to move the armrest so he could bring Minerva close, but it wouldn’t move. Minerva glanced his way. She knew he wasn’t having a great time, so Minerva put her head on his shoulder and moved her hand to his knee.
As they watched the move Albus and Minerva made little comments about it to each other. When Harry told Sally men and women couldn’t be friends Minerva felt Albus nod.
“You agree? But we are friends,” she whispered.
“Of course, darling, but I was very attracted to you from the start. We are friends because we are lovers too.”
“But I have and have had male friends,” Minerva protested lifting her head.
“Many probably wanted you, and now they’d know I’d hurt them.”
“We’ll finish this later,” she replied perturbed.
Later it was Albus who started a conversation when he noticed Minerva smiled as Sally demonstrated how a woman faked an orgasm.
“Why are you smiling, have you ever?”
“Yes,” Minerva answered without thinking and it was a moment before she turned her head up, and quickly added, “but never with you darling.”
“But how would I know that?”
Minerva just smiled, and turned her attention back toward the movie.
“You have with me, haven’t you?”
“No, Albus I have not. Now shh, this is neither the time nor the place to discuss this.”
The rest of the movie was silent for the couple, mainly because Albus was still mopping over Minerva’s sexual satisfaction.
“That was good, Albus.” Minerva said standing up once the movie was over.
“It was ok.”
“Don’t sulk.”
“I’m not sulking.”
“Yes, you are. Now let’s get home, Albus.”
Once back at Hogwarts Albus brought the topic back up again.
“Merlin, Albus! I was in my twenties. I have had no need to do so with you, but if you are so desperate to see perhaps the next time we make love I will,” Minerva challenged.
“So are you saying you feel you would have to?”
Minerva threw her hands up in the air, “When you are ready to believe me come find me. I’m getting a bath.”
Thirty minutes later Minerva heard a knock on the bathroom door. “Minerva, may I come in?”
“Are you ready to believe me?”
“Yes.”
“Then enter.”
Having closed the door once more Albus looked at the floor as he started to speak, “I thought maybe you’d like an explanation…”
“Not really,” Minerva interrupted. “I think I know why, but you should believe me. However I do not want to talk about that right now.”
“No, I-“whatever Albus was going to say died on his lips as he lifted his gaze to his beautiful wife. No longer sitting in the tub Minerva was standing with one of her legs lifted to rest on the side of the tub.
“I thought that might shut you up. Join me?” she asked in a sultry voice.
“Oh yeah.” Albus started toward the tub before Minerva made him stop. “Don’t you think you should take your clothes off, Albus?”
“Uh, perhaps, but I’d rather you help me.” He finished quickly recovering from his tongue tied moments.
“For a moment there I thought a cat had caught your tongue,” Minerva replied climbing out of the tub.
“Not yet, but I’d much rather her focus on another area of my body.”
“If you shut up she might.”
“Done.” Smiling Albus let Minerva lead him back to the tub.
