I'm not sure if we did it right! Fantastic challenge by the way!
When Minerva woke with the sun she was surprised to see a letter next to her bed. She sat up and picked it up quickly. Recognising the writing immediately, she ripped it open and began to read.
Dear Mother and Father,
I'm coming home this weekend, as you already know, but would I be able to bring someone with me? Someone who's very special in my life? I would love for you to finally meet them! Please reply soon!
Always,
Audrey
When Minerva had finished reading the letter she laughed and woke up Albus who was sleeping peacefully next to her.
"Look!" she cried, "We finally get to meet Audrey's boyfriend!"
"Oh Minerva, what wonderful news." said Albus sleepily.
"I wonder what he's like?" she said with concern and she began to pace the room. Albus yawned and forced himself out of bed.
"Come back to bed darling," he murmured as he wrapped his arms around her waist and drew her back down.
After having a delightful morning tea with Poppy, Minerva rushed back to her chambers. She had made sure the way was clear beforehand but Hooch was resourceful, she had eyes everywhere in the castle.
Minerva ran to her door but was stopped abruptly when a very angry witch blocked her path.
"Rolanda..." said Minerva sweetly, but her shifty eyes betrayed her act of innocence.
"How could you!" shrieked Rolanda. "You of all people! What were you thinking! I'm supposed to be the crazy one, not you!"
Minerva tried to transform quickly but Rolanda hexed her.
"Oh no you don't! I still can't believe you blamed it on me! Can't you and Severus just behave! Just when I was getting into his good books you had to ruin it!"
"What are you implying Rolanda? Good books hmm?"
Rolanda mumbled something quietly.
"Pardon?" said Minerva in mock politeness.
"I'll get you back for this Minerva McGonagall," cried Rolanda dramatically as she stormed off.
"You deserve it you know!" yelled Minerva as she watched her walk away.
"Well fine! But you must admit, turning your hair pink was the funniest thing that happened all week!" said Rolanda humorously.
Minerva had just successfully pulled the biggest prank of the year on none other than Severus Snape. She had covered her tracks so well that the only person Severus suspected was Rolanda. This worked out well for her, it was like killing two birds with one stone. Getting revenge on both Rolanda and Severus on the same day!
Later that night when a knock came at the door Minerva and Albus opened it quickly. It wasn't like Audrey to be late, but tonight she was a good twenty minutes late. After many hugs and kisses their daughter looked nervous and was constantly glancing behind her. Minerva tried to peer behind Audrey to finally see the young man but her daugher was blocking her view.
"Mum...dad," said Audrey nervously as a girl stepped out from behind her. "I'd like you to meet Rebecca."
"Good evening," said Albus politely. The girl looked familiar somehow, but he couldn't recall ever seeing her before.
Minerva smiled as well but looked around frantically as she did so.
"Where is he?" she whispered as she nudged Albus. She was eager to meet the lucky man.
Albus shrugged and nodded his head towards Audrey, who was smiling widely.
"I've got so much to tell you!" cried Audrey as she grabbed her friends hand and ran into the living room. Albus and Minerva exchanged worried looks and they followed her, their expressions clearly showing confusion.
"Oh, and Rebecca got a new tattoo!' said Audrey as she bustled around the kitchen.
"A tattoo?" asked Albus.
"Yes," said Bec reluctantly but she looked pointedly at Audrey.
"And it's right near her girl thingy!" called out Audrey suddenly.
"WHAT?!" yelled Minerva.
"Her cat mother, her girl thingy cat!" said Audrey impatiently as Rebecca pulled up her sleeve and showed them the small tattoos there. A small blue cat which danced across the skin of her wrist was just to the left of a shooting star.
Albus sighed with relief but Minerva still looked suspicious.
"It's not like you don't have a tattoo yourself mum!" said Audrey cheekily. Even Minerva had to chuckle at that.
They all sat down on the chairs around the fireplace. Albus and Minerva on one couch, Audrey and Rebecca on the opposite one, a coffee table between them.
"Do you like Sherbet Lemons?" asked Albus eagerly in an attempt to steer the conversation into safer waters.
"Sherbet Lemons?" cried Rebecca, her disgust clearly evident on her face. "Don't tell me you eat the disgusting things Audrey!"
"No I don't but-" replied Audrey quickly but she saw the twinkle disappear from her father's eyes. Minerva rested her hand on her husband's arm but he ignored her, his attention focused completely on Rebecca.
"And Ginger Newts?" continued Bec, not even noticing the reactions of the people around her. "They're even worse! Why do Honeydukes even bother, no-one in their right mind would buy them!"
"Rol-...Rebecca!" interrupted Aubrey and she fell silent.
An awkward silence followed and Audrey winced and inwardly sighed when she glanced at her parents again. Her mother now looked thunderous with her eyes narrowed and her lips pursed.
"Why isn't your young man here Audrey? We thought you would bring that special someone?" asked Minerva sharply.
"I did." replied Audrey happily.
Albus, who had been sipping at his wine throughout the conversation, choked rather loudly. Minerva patted him on the back as he struggled to regain his breath.
"Pardon?" he coughed.
The two young girls looked at each other. Audrey looked reluctant and wary but Rebecca looked strangely determined.
"We're a couple." she said.
"What?!?" Oh no! Audrey!?! shrieked Minerva.
"Bec and I are getting married!" exclaimed Audrey as she leaned over and kissed Rebecca on the cheek.
"Not that there's anything wrong with that," said Albus uncomfortably after yet another long silence. "Minerva?"
But Minerva was frozen into shock. She stared at two girls unblinkingly, her eyes wide and her mouth slightly open. When there was no response from her after several minutes Albus cleared his throat loudly.
"Mum?" said Audrey as they watched the distraught woman. Minerva was looking anywhere but at them.
"Excuse me!" she cried suddenly as she stood up quickly and ran from the room. Albus quickly followed her.
Audrey looked extremely relieved as the clock struck seven. On the seventh chime Rebecca's face started to contort and her facial features changed. After a short while she looked completely different. She now had short hair and mischievous yellow eyes.
"You owe me a lot for that Hooch." said Audrey as she curled up on the couch. "I mean a lot. I hope it was worth it..."
"Oh it was." replied Rolanda happily. She had a very satisfied smirk on her face.
"But why did you have to provoke Dad over his sherbet lemons?"
"He supported Minerva! And I bet he actually helped her!" exclaimed Rolanda as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"What did she actually do?"
"Something that involved Severus, Gryffindor colours, pink underwear and lace, oh and-"
"I don't think I want to know!" interrupted poor traumatised Audrey. "You're sure to get a howler when Mum finds out..."
"When? No, there won't be a when. She won't find out!" said Rolanda confidently.
"Won't I?" came a threatening voice from behind them.
