also, I was thinking about this with my best friend the other day. We're always together. And then as we were talking I had a lightbulb-over-head moment. I suddenly remembered (when we were in highschool) how everybody in our gym class thought that we were in love simply because we were best friends and always together. I said word-for-word what JKR said out of frustration when one of our mutual friends asked if we were in love. "Not everybody is in love with everyone elseee..."
I kind of understand how she ended it like she did with them. (I still think that they're perfect *grumpy sigh* but I'm not really mad about it. I like them as friends just as much!) I'm also okay that Minerva isn't deputy anymore, because she's like... 95 when Harry's kids go to Hogwarts! She deserves a nice retirement I think ;D

Honestly, I never expected the ship to become cannon, so it hasn't changed for me in the slightest. For me, the name gave it away from the beginning. Minerva/Athena was one of the virgin goddesses (in fact, I think she was the chief of the virgin goddesses). So I always figured JKR had written her as a single woman.
Just my two cents...

Ogh my,that banner is absolutely fabulous!!! I love all the reasons,specially leading an army of desks and the part about her hair! LOL! I can really imagine her on the beach,cocktail in hand,big sunglasses and bigger hat! Lovely!

I think JKR is just deluding herself because she cannot, as of yet, handle the sheer, unstoppable prefection that is Albus and Minerva Dumbledore. She's just in shock, is all. She'll come around one day, and if not...well, it is near impossible to sink a submarine.
And that banner? SO TRUE. ILU FOR THAT.
