I've been experimenting with Photoshop for quite a while (I only have PS Elements, so I'm a bit restricted, but nevertheless some good results) and have become addicted to making story banners. Good thing too, because I have a tonne of fics and I'm never out of ideas for plots or banners :)
I do have one problem and that is pictues - although most of my fics feature Harry I've got some set in the past as well, and it's so HARD to find pictures that could be of younger characters, specifically Minerva and Albus! I've had to use Ron twice for Albus and hope it's not too obvious :D, and once Legolas with edited hair colour (long story). I used Arwen for Minerva in that one. And I used Hermione once for Minerva as well, though I darkened her hair. Fortunately in that one Albus is related to Ron and Minerva to Hermione, so I could get away with it! But really, it is a big problem. I tried to use pictures of my friends (with their permission) but HPFF said they don't allow personal pictures, so that was out the window.
Does anyone know of any actors etc that I could Google to find suitable pics? Please?
Also, I've posted my completed banners below and am offering my services as a banner artist to anyone posting on HPFF or Honeydukes who wants a banner done. I'll need at least the plot of the story if the whole thing isn't written, and if possible some ideas about how you'd want it laid out. If it's set in the past, please either provide images or tell me who I can Google to get them. Otherwise I'm good with images from the films, or using my initiative.
3 Feb 09: I've had a post clean and got rid of some of my old, pretty rubbish banners and replaced them with some more recent, better ones. I've been making banners for the Buffy fandom too recently, and included a couple of good ones.
Some people have asked about reading fics my banners advertise. They now link to the stories, except the banners which advertise stories not posted anywhere yet. Basically, if clicking on the banner doesn't take you anywhere, it means the fic's not ready for posting. If it does, please leave a review.
I have now, not only the full version of Photoshop, but the EXPANDED version. So I can do even more than before.

Although this one is animated, I haven't learnt how to use any animation programmes. If it can't be done on an online image animator, don't ask me for it.
