A/N: For the purpose of this story, Minerva is 23 and Albus is 67. I’m not putting an exact date other than the fact that it is March. I elaborated on some of the technology which was probably not around in the time period but I had fun. So here’s my answer to challenge #85: ‘a day at the beach’. Beware serious fluff ahead and one very large lemon. Hope you like it as much as I do.
Title: An Adventure in Honeymooning
Summary: Albus and Minerva have gotten married and are sent on a trip to the beach as a wedding present from their friends the Flamel’s. But the time of year isn’t exactly right.
Rating: 17+
Nicholas Flamel, an elderly wizard with lightly salted red hair and dancing blue eyes squeezed his wife, Perenelle’s hand. They stood at the door to their study and watched the younger, newly married couple on their sofa. With a smile they saw Albus’ eyes stare intently into Minerva’s and she smiled shyly.
His hand crawled up Minerva’s thigh to her lap and then surrounded her smaller delicate hand with his larger, long fingered one. His fingers twined with hers and he smiled back. Tentatively, he leaned forward and kissed her neck, unaware they were being watched.
Minerva moved her head slightly giving him more access, his mouth slid up to her ear and he whispered. She snorted drawing her other hand up over her nose and mouth. Albus smiled and chuckled too. He then kissed a trail across her cheek to her smiling mouth as Minerva put her hand back in her lap. He reached up and grazed her jaw with his fingers lightly, causing Minerva to turn her head slightly and the kiss deepened.
Albus’ tongue licked her lips and Minerva opened her own. Sweetly, slowly his tongue entered her warm mouth and she trembled. His tongue found hers and circled it performing a timeless dance as he tasted her and she felt her head spinning. Minerva withdrew from the kiss, looked at him through her eyelashes and blushed prettily.
“Thank you, my love,” Albus murmured. “You have made me the happiest man on Earth.”
Minerva’s blush deepened but she sighed in contentment and smiled at him once more. “You have done the same for me Albus,” she whispered back.
“She’s lovely and they make such an adorable couple. Ahhh…to be young and so in love,” Perenelle, her brown hair slightly streaked with grey and hazel-eyed, sighed contently..
“What’s wrong with being old and in love?” Nicholas countered looking at her playfully. He brought up his arm to block her as she smacked at him for his comment. Nicholas laughed and said, “Okay, okay. Besides, I couldn’t be happier. It’s about time Albus settled down with someone. And from what he tells me of Minerva, she couldn’t be better for him.”
Suddenly, Nicholas’ arm flashed out, grabbed Perenelle’s waist and pulled her to him. Her chest met his and his arms came around her, crushing her to him. Passion flared and his lips claimed hers. They clung to each other briefly, inspired by the young love further in the room, then pulled apart and straightened themselves.
“Shall we go,” Nicholas asked motioning into the Study.
“Yes, let’s…the sooner we send them off the sooner we can continue,” Perenelle shot him a wicked grin. This caused his pupils to dilate and breathing to speed up with excitement.
“After you, little imp,” he smiled roguishly and pinched her bottom, which made her jump and giggle, as she preceded him into the room.
Albus and Minerva looked up at the Flamel’s as they entered. With their hands laced they stood and greeted the other couple with esteem.
“Ahh, Albus and Minerva, congratulations,” Nicholas told them, beaming, slapping Albus on the back. “Perenelle and I couldn’t be happier for you both.”
“And, my dears, as a wedding present we are sending you to Daytona Beach, Florida for a few days to start your honeymoon,” Perenelle announced.
Albus looked delighted but Minerva looked a bit nervous. However, she still gave a small smile of thanks for the Flamel’s generosity. “Now, young lady, you must come with me. I have a few other things for you Minerva and then you both can be on your way.” Perenelle took Minerva’s hand and led her out of the Study and up the stairs, leaving the men behind.

Minerva sighed and took in her surroundings. The room was spacious and it was plain the hotel was trying to convey a sense of paradise with the tropical bedspread and pictures of parrots adorning the walls. The view of the ocean beyond the sliding door and balcony was breathtaking, even in the moonlit night.
After Perenelle had given her two parcels she had told her to use well, Minerva and Albus had been whisked off to the Airport, scuttled onto a plane, flown over the ocean and, this evening, they had checked into a hotel called The Islander. According to pamphlets provided, the hotel had lots to offer. Poolside bar, balcony rooms, king size beds, concierge and the list continued.
Minerva stared out the sliding door into the purple night. As she walked onto the balcony the wind whipped through her hair and pulled it down from its usual bun. She saw the moonlit waves as they traveled to shore, their white caps looking like floating marshmallows. This thought brought her to Albus. She smiled and shook her head. He was still in the bathroom playing with the wall mounted hair dryer. On the plane he had turned every knob, pushed every button and pulled every string. Gently, she chuckled. Life with Albus would never be dull, that was for sure.
She came back in the room and shut the sliding door. The parcels Perenelle had given her caught her eye and she placed them on the bed. After opening the first one Minerva gasped in pleasure. In her hands was the most sweetly, seductive garment she had ever seen. A pure white gown where the fabric consisted of jacquard satin layered with a filmy, soft see through material. It had spaghetti straps and though it was virginal white it screamed, wanton witch. What a perfect garment for her first time, their first time together. She would have to thank Perenelle later.
The other parcel held a myriad of beach items. Minerva hovered that one back over to the chair by the wall and looked at the garment in her hands again. Butterflies rose in her stomach as she carefully concealed the gown from view and went to extract Albus from the bathroom so she could ‘prepare’ for their wedding night.
“Albus? May I get in there please,” she asked, her eyes softening as she saw him lifting the dryer yet again.
“Of course, my dear,” his eyes twinkled madly as they fell on his wife and her cheeks held a faint pink tinge. Albus grasped her shoulders and pulled her to him. She found herself against the door as his lips met hers with a consuming heat.
As their lips broke apart he murmured, “I was just about to join you, my love.” His pupils dilated in anticipation.
Minerva smiled at him and her nervousness was back. “Just give me a little bit and I’ll be out,” she closed the door softly behind him.
Minerva ran the bath water and poured lavender scented bubble bath into it. She submerged herself in the delightfully steamy water. The smell worked to relax her and take away the tension involved with the journey to the hotel. After her bath she pulled on the revealing gown and brushed out her raven locks. She took a deep breath, she was ready. It felt like she had been waiting for this moment forever. Taking another deep breath she walked out into the room.
Albus had been staring out the sliding door to the ocean scene beyond. His eyes caught a glimpse of Minerva in the reflection of the door so he turned to greet her, “Miner…,” he began but stopped. His breath caught in his throat and his blue eyes burned over her body.
He finally managed to find his voice as he crossed the room to her. “You look beautiful, my darling, simply stunning.” His eyes met hers and she felt color rise in her cheeks again. Albus noted this and took her in his arms. His lips claimed hers as his tongue plunged into her mouth when her lips opened to him. Her arms came around him and she felt a moan escape into his mouth from hers.
He possessed her and she was succumbing in sweet abandon. Albus’ hands traveled to her breasts and his long fingered hands brushed them gently. Minerva felt her nipples tauten and her flesh prickled at his touch.
“So sweet, so lovely,” he murmured when their lips parted.
His lips traveled down her throat and licked a sensitive spot as his hands continued their massage of her aching breasts. Minerva’s head fell back, her arms held him and her hands tangled in his long grey-streaked auburn hair.
“Albus,” his name came out in a hoarse whisper and she moaned again. Warmth began in her center, a fire sparked at the sensations he stoked within her. His lips traveled to her breast and he licked it through the thin material. His tongue languidly circled her taut nipple and she trembled, her legs nearly buckling at the pull in her core.
His attentions journeyed to her other breast where he repeated his actions drawing a moan from her as the fabric over her nipple turned cool, being wet from his ministrations. He stood again and his lips fused with hers. His strong arms embracing her and she felt the evidence of his desire pressing against her. He maneuvered her to the bed and she felt the edge hit the back of her legs.
A small movement with his hands and his muggle clothing was gone. He stood in magnificent masculine nakedness before her. Beginning to feel the power she held over him she reached down boldly and grasped his length in her hand. Gently she caressed him and ran her finger, subtly up his shaft causing him to tremble.
“Minerva,” her name was pulled from him. She looked up into his eyes then. Green meeting blue fiercely and their passion ignited, burning hot. With a moan he climbed on the bed pulling her with him. They lay down in a tangle of arms and legs, mouths feasting and tongues licking.
His hand played at her thigh then moved up and touched her center. Albus rubbed and caressed then tenderly slipped his finger inside. His mouth was at her breast again and she twisted her hands in his hair holding him to her. Minerva’s hips undulated against his hand and a moan escaped her lips. Albus moved his free hand and her gown came off allowing his lips to travel down her quivering stomach, her abdomen and then join his hand at the apex of her thighs.
“Albus,” she began nervously, not understanding what he was doing. “Ohhh,” she gasped as he breathed fire into her. His tongue caressed her lips as his finger moved inside her. Her hips began to buck beneath his knowing touch.
Albus sucked her nub as his fingers stroked, “Ahh, Albus…please…” Minerva was a bundle of feeling. She needed him to fill her. Pressure was building and she knew only he could help her relieve it. His lips burned a trail up her body and he kissed her again. Her eyes were bright with need and he knew she was ready for him.
Slowly he moved over her and placed his head at her center. It felt wet as he slid up and down, his essence mingling with hers. His hands were on either side of her as he dipped to claim her lips with his and his tongue lapped at hers, drawing it into his mouth. With painful slowness he eased into her tight warmth. When he met her maidenhead he paused not wanting to cause her too much pain. His hips jerked, piercing her shield in one quick movement and she cried out.
He stayed there and waited for her pain to subside. He kissed her lips, then her cheeks, her nose and her eyes. Murmuring to her, he told her of her beauty and his love for her. When he felt her begin to relax he withdrew from her then slowly eased in again. His hips began a steady rhythm and Minerva felt the pressure building again after the pain had subsided. Her hips rose to meet him at each stroke. Her legs wrapped around his waist to support her as he thrust into her deeper and deeper.
His mouth found hers and their tongues tangled. The pleasure building in Minerva as Albus moved within her. Suddenly, the dam broke and Minerva cried out his name as her hips bucked against him wildly. Albus groaned and came within her pinning her to the bed. His arms came around her like steel bands. His lips crashed against hers, his body covering hers and buried within her. Their two bodies trembled at their joining. Reveling in their love and, after many months of waiting, they were finally one.
Gently, they drifted off to sleep that way, smiles on their faces. The waves crashing in the distance created a murmuring lullaby. Sometime later Minerva felt Albus stir within her and they made love again. Tenderly, sweetly, it was a perfect nightcap for the beginning of their marriage. Afterwards, Minerva smiled indulgently to herself and wondered what tomorrow would be like, then, wrapped in Albus’ arms, she let the sandman take her.

The sun was beginning to creep over the horizon. Minerva stirred. As she began to move she felt warmth surrounding her. She smiled. She and Albus were still wrapped around each other.
She moved her head and opened her eyes to gaze at her beloved. Her breath caught in her throat when she saw his blue eyes stared back at her. He smiled at her, “Good morning my love.”
“Good morning,” she beamed back. Their love enrobed them in warmth and she sighed with contentment. She leaned up and looked out the sliding door. Beyond, she heard the waves crashing and they seemed to beckon.
“Fancy a walk on the beach,” Albus asked as his blue orbs twinkled at her.
“I’d love one.”
“Well then, no more lying about, up you get,” Albus bounded out of bed, full of energy and Minerva stretched languidly as the bed bounced. Suddenly a pillow was thrust into her face and she cried out in surprise, but laughed when she realized Albus had thrown it at her.
Her eyes narrowed in challenge and Albus turned and headed for the bathroom followed closely by Minerva. After showering, they dressed for the beach and Minerva found a bag and put all the items from Perenelle’s parcel in it.
“Ready, my dear,” Albus asked offering his arm, eyes shining with love for his new wife. His eyes devoured the sight of her in her beach cover up.
Minerva linked her arm with his, “Yes, my love.”
As they passed the concierge an exuberant, blonde-haired, hazel eyed man caught their attention and they approached the desk. His name tag said ‘Joe’ and he smiled at them both. “Can I make you folks any reservations for dinner? Tours of the Everglades? Parasailing? Recommend any spots? Boardwalk, fishing...,” he broke off as Albus tried to slow him down. The man seemed eager to please them however he could.
“No, no. Not right now. We just want to go for a walk along the beach. Perhaps spend the day out there, any suggestions for that?”
“Oh, yes sir! And you’re early enough to get a good spot. Just outside of the Veranda there’s a good spot. Puts you just on the other side of the pool. The umbrella stand isn’t too far either,” he informed.
“Early enough? Does the beach fill up much here,” Albus inquired and was met with a snort from Joe.
“Sir, this time of year, in an hour or so, you will be lucky to see a spot of sand on this beach.”
“How do you mean? It isn’t the summer, good man, it is only the end of March,” said Albus looking puzzled.
Joe snorted again. “Sir, I see you and your lovely wife are not from here. But it is Spring Break here in Daytona Beach.” The man seemed to shudder a little and continued at Albus and Minerva’s blank expressions. “All the colleges and schools across America are on Spring Break. Instead of going home, many of the students come here to carouse and have fun. Most should be arriving today and throughout the week,” his smile conveyed a bit of concern.
Albus and Minerva didn’t know what to think. Here they thought they were going to have a few quiet days at the beach to start their life together, instead they learn they are to be surrounded by a bunch of carousing teenagers.
“Thanks for the information good fellow. We’ll get back to you on those reservations,” Albus told Joe and grabbed Minerva’s hand to pull her along behind him. Her mouth moved like a fish at first, but soon she found her voice.
“Albus,” she questioned. “You can’t mean for us to stay!”
He turned once they were away from Joe. “My dear, it is only 3 days. It would be rude to renege on Nicholas and Perenelle’s generosity.”
“But, do you…,” she began.
“Think they knew about this Spring Break thing? No, I highly doubt it. Though Nicholas knows how much I like muggles, I don’t believe he would intentionally send us into a crowd of them on our honeymoon.” His eyes searched hers imploringly. “Perhaps it won’t be so bad. We never really had the chance to carouse in our youth, so why not indulge a little now? What could it hurt? It’s our honeymoon, let’s flow with the tide or however that muggle saying goes,” he smiled at her devilishly and she sighed.
“Oh, alright. If it gets too crowded on the beach we can return to our room and engage in indoor activities instead.” She raised an eyebrow as his eyes twinkled again.
They made their way past the sparkling pool to the beach where a gentleman in red swim trunks, a white shirt and white cream on his nose set them up an umbrella over two wooden chairs. Minerva found two large beach towels among the things Perenelle had packed and laid them on the chairs. The sky was a bit overcast and the ocean breeze whipped their hair around wildly. Minerva’s bun never stood a chance.
Leaving their marked chairs under the scrutiny of the life guard they made their way down the beach holding hands. Barefoot, they treaded in the water as it flowed in and out with the tide. Minerva wore a green one piece swimsuit that looped her neck like a halter. Albus wore a pair of bright blue swim trunks and a muggle tee shirt. His hair and beard danced in the wind. He delighted in watching the hundreds of tiny clams dig their way into the sand as the water receded and collected shells as they walked which he shared with Minerva.
As they walked down the seashore and back up to their spot they noticed all the teenagers arriving at the coastline. It began to fill quickly. Young men chased young ladies who squealed and ran. Girls stood grouped together, pointed at boys and giggled riotously. Boys, trying to be men, puffed out their chests and attempted to strut and impress said giggling females.
Albus smiled at the young people’s antics and looked to Minerva. She studied it all with a slight smirk on her face. When they were back at the chairs Minerva located the suntan lotion in the bag and asked Albus to do her back. He obliged and took his time slathering then rubbing it in with a firm massage. He leaned down and kissed her neck and she smiled over her arm at him.
“Want me to do you?” She eyed him and saw him look to the sky and shake his head.
“The sun isn’t out; I doubt I will need it much, besides I want to go for a dip.” He took off his shirt and Minerva’s gaze roved his hair covered chest hungrily. “Care to join me?” His eyes met hers. “And stop staring at me like that or we won’t spend any days at the beach while we’re here.”
Minerva blushed slightly and looked away. She took the hand he offered and accompanied him to the water. As they made their way into the water Minerva felt the strong pull. The undertow was treacherous.
“Let’s not go too deep Albus,” she suggested though he was already waist deep.
For twenty minutes they challenged the water which pulled them along and stole the sand from beneath their feet with the roll of the waves. When they looked up they realized they were quite a way from their original spot and decided to trudge back up the beach through the thickening crowd. When they made it back to their chairs they collapsed exhausted, wet and salty.
A volley ball landed near Albus and he tossed it back to the group by the net. The group on their other side had turned a large cable spool on its side to use as a table. Shot glasses sat at intervals around the table with a larger glass in the middle. A beer sat next to each one. Albus’ brows shot up. It couldn’t be more than 10:30 in the morning.
A girl in the group noticed Albus and Minerva watching them and smiled at the couple. She wore a two piece bathing suit with a pink gingham print. Her dark brown hair was plaited down her back. Boldly she approached them. “Want to join us? We were about to play chandeliers and could use a couple more.” She smiled genuinely at Minerva.
Albus looked intrigued, he had never heard of this game before. Minerva rolled her eyes when Albus’ gaze shifted to hers with a pleading look. “Oh, alright,” she told him and stood.
Soon there were about ten of them seated around the table. The large glass in the middle of the table was full of beer and as each shot glass was emptied by a participant it was quickly refilled. Ginger had explained the game and it seemed easy enough to Albus and Minerva. They each took turns trying to bounce a coin in a glass. Whomever the glass belonged to took a drink.
After two rounds Minerva finally managed to get the coin in Albus’ glass and he drank. In turn he did the same to her. A young man named Chad landed the coin in the large glass so everyone took a drink and he made Minerva also drink the beer in the large glass. Albus chuckled and she narrowed her eyes at him. On her next turn she got the coin in the large glass by rolling it off her prim nose where she made Albus drink the large glass of ale this time.
Soon, with the combination of the heat and the game, Albus and Minerva were feeling the effects of the alcohol. They decided to take their leave of the game but thanked everyone in the group for letting them play. Minerva asked Albus to slather her back again and as he leaned in to massage he snuggled against her neck. He delighted in the feeling of lightheadedness and the scent of her. Her skin smelled like a mixture of salt, lavender, sweat and suntan lotion.
Minerva giggled and moved her head to give him better access to her neck. His hands tangled in her hair and pulled her head aside firmly as he sucked on her neck. She gasped. He was creating the lovely pressure again and the alcohol was making her warm. She turned on her side, grabbed his beard and tugged, pulling his head down to claim his lips.
“Good Lord Professor Dumbledore, is that you,” a rough Scottish brogue clambered through Albus’ thoughts. He pulled away from Minerva and looked to the speaker.
Minerva blushed as her green eyes met the intense stare of one Alastor Moody. Albus seemed to recover a little. “Alastor, my boy. I didn’t expect to see you so far from Hogwarts.”
Moody blushed. “Well, my uncle owns an Inn on the beach and my parents decided to spend part of the Easter break here,” he informed, then his eyes rested on Minerva. “Minerva McGonagall? You were about five years ahead of me weren’t you?” Moody seemed stunned.
Minerva looked up, “Yes Alastor. It’s been a few years,” she said as cordially as her pleasantly spinning head would allow. “How are you?”
“Fine, fine,” he said into the awkward silence.
“Hey Alastor! Come on, we need you to serve. It’s your turn,” called a voice from the other side of the volley ball net and Alastor looked over his shoulder.
“Well I guess I better get back to the game,” he murmured. Quickly he picked up the volley ball and turned to make his way back to the court.
“See you back at school Mr. Moody,” Albus called after him, gaze twinkling. Moody nodded and waved going back to his friends shaking his head. Albus grunted when Minerva elbowed him in the ribs. He glared at her, “what was that for?”
“Must you have that damn twinkle in your eye? Alastor is a student. We had decided not to tell anyone at Hogwarts about us. What if he tells anyone,” Minerva asked with worry.
“Shush, my dear. I doubt Alastor will say anything once he gets over his shock. But if I have to I can obliviate him. Now, where were we,” he asked playfully and nuzzled her neck again and she giggled in an unMinerva like way.
“Albus, I think we should go in. It’s getting more crowded by the minute, the alcohol has gone to my head and we need to eat something.”
“I couldn’t agree more. It is rather hot and I think we should take full advantage of the alcohol induced state our new friends have generously bestowed upon us,” he pulled her to him again and kissed her with abandon.
