With the "upgrade"... has there been a change in the avatars? Like in their size... I know they can't be any bigger than 100 x 100 like in Live Journal... but is there a maximum kb to them? Or is the change no longer allowing animated icons?? I ask, as ever since the "upgrade"... Jaya's animated Maggie icon won't work in here, and it was working fine before. It works in LJ, so it's not a big avatar. I've checked the help... but it wasn't very helpful. So if any of ya'll can be of assistance, it would be greatly appreciated, as that avatar is Jaya's favourite. Thank you!!  |

I just tried replacing my avatar with an animated gif that was 58 kb and it worked just fine. What's the link to her avatar and how many kb? If the link contains a character like "%" (sometimes Photobucket will do that if you have a two word folder name) then proboards won't recognize it. There have been some bugs reported about images and avatars since the upgrade and the Proboard staff will get to them once all the boards are upgraded.

hmm... okay... that might be the problem then!
will have to re-upload the pic to photobucket... and clean the URL up!

I don't know, if that was actually the problem...well, maybe it was, but i noticed that since the upgrade, one needs to be logged in, to see the Avatars, which was not the case before...kinda odd...

That's true. With the upgrade, guests can't see avatars anymore. I did read somewhere that they may be fixing it or will come up with a code for it. Whatever the reason, I'm glad you got your avatar back!
