I looked to see if there was a thread already alluding to this question, but was unsuccessful.

What do the hat icons mean, that appear above our names?

And also what do the titles, first-year, Gryfiindor Seeker etc. mean. I am assuming that they refer to the status of the members, but am unsure.

Enlightenment would be much appreciated.

Since what can a cat do in an empty apartment?
Climb the walls?
Rub against the furniture?
Nothing seems different here
but nothing the same.
Nothing has been moved,but there's more space.
And at nightime no lamps are lit.
Footsteps on the staircase,
but they're new ones.
The hand that puts fish on the saucer has changed too.

I think the hat thing has something to do with the number of posts or time on the site.

The more posts you have, the higher your rank goes, as does the number of hats. :-) - April
