OH MY GOD!!!!

Peeps....heard this on the radio this morning, it said that it came from JKR's web site but i can't for the life of me find out where!!!

Apparently, she has just announced that she will be killing off another MAIN character in the 6th book!!!

Now i don't know about you all but i'm very very worried about who its gonna be!!!!
I just hope to Merlin that its not one of our dynamic duo!!!!

Any way if any one has any more info....

Okay, first of all, don't do that to me!

Second, this is why we have to be soooo careful about news that comes along regarding JKR and HP. I personally have found that if mugglenet doesn't say it in their news then it's not on JKR's site. So, just now I went and checked both places. Mugglenet says nothing about a JKR update, and I swear they always know 2 seconds after she does it. AND even more importantly, I checked out the site. Here's what I found:

In the FAQ, there's a question that says "Will you be killing more characters?'' Answer: "Yes. Sorry."

Okay, we've always known that. Ever since Cedric died we've been aware that others would follow AND now that they're going to be openly at war I think most of us have safely assumed this equals deaths. As far as I know, and I've read every JKR interview I could find, she has not yet given anymore details as to the identity or importance of who will die.

She updated that FAQ a week or so ago, sounds like your radio's news source was just a bit behind. Not that this means our favorite couple are safe, I suppose no one is really safe, but it's very vague so let's not freak out yet. I really feel like she needs to keep Albus around until the seventh book, if he dies (NOOOO) it won't be until very close to the end. Why? He's the voice of JKR in the books, she's said so, what's she going to do if she gets rid of that? He's the only one who knows everything that has to happen so obviously he's got to stick around. And somehow I just feel like Minerva is safe...for no good reason, but she's been attacked once (for a reason, she had to not be there in order to send Harry to the DoM), but I'm not sure what purpose her death would serve in driving the overall plot forward. Does that make sense? Also, that attack and her fairly quick recovery proved that it's going to be very difficult to get rid of her. Sounds to me like she can hold her own in a battle.

It's in the FAQ section of the site in the "About the Books" portion. The question is "Are you going to kill any more characters?" The answer is "Yes. Sorry."

Note that it doesn't say *main* characters, just *characters*. A subtle difference, I know, but JKR is nothing if not subtle.

Okay. So Jem, thanks for making me freak out ... argh, argh... hehe. Anyways, now I can *breathe* again (took me some time!)... Well, I agree with what ginger newts said... Albus simply can't die before the 7th book... not that he can die THEN, naturally ... but you know what I mean, he's still of too much use to JKR to be killed off (notice I'm talking about her as if she's a dangerous murderer... sorry JK . And Minerva- well, for some reason I too think that after Umbridge's attack, she is rather safe, since I mean, she suffered enough during OotP to be left alone in the next book(s).
Oh for heaven's sake, what am I blabbing about... let's just... PRAY!

I concur, Grand-mere. Tante Jem, don't worry so much about it all...just hope and pray our favorite Duo will make it out alive. Oh dear, that wasn't exactly comforting...*huggleses Jem*

Of course...well, this won't help, but...I've studied the classic "Herp's Quest" in Children's Lit, and usually the "Mentor", (like Obi-Wan Kenobi, for one) doesn't make it out alive... BUT the death gives the hero the strength he needs to complete his quest. I HOPE that if Albus MUST go, it gives Harry the power he needs to face Voldemort and win.
