Ok, chicks, I was on JKR's site and she said that the title of the sixth book relates to a discovery Harry made in the Chamber of Secrets that foreshadows something he finds out in Prince. So I need your brainpower...what is it??? Or what could it be?
Thoughts, anyone...

In the chamber of secrets Harry finds out that Filch is a Squib. I think we maybe find out a lot more about Filch in the sixth book.

Hmm, I've been thinking about this one for a while and honestly, there are so many things it could be. Harry makes a lot of discoveries during the second book. I had a list, but I lost it, I'll try to recreate the important points.
The blood purity issue comes up for the first time. Harry discovers house elves. He discovers he's a parseltongue (this could be big for later). He learns about some of the magical properties of a pheonix. He finds out that he can call Fawkes to him and that he can get the sword of Gryffindor out of the hat. Albus tells him that it's our choices who make us who we are. Along the lines of the parseltongue thing, he learns that Voldemort may have given him some of his powers. He finds out Volemort's true identity and some of his past.
There's more, but those are all I can think of now that could come into play later. It's so hard to try and out guess JKR.

I've given up trying to second guess her on anything. I hope she finishes the book soon. But I don't expect it, no, because she's having a baby. Pardon me for being rude, but my brother and I had too much fun with this play on words for me to not post it. She needs to stop screwing around and write her book!
I have no idea who the HBP will be. Perhaps Gryffindor, or maybe Hagrid. Actually, I think it's something that was taken out of book 2, so we have no bloody clue. *sighs* Why can't she make this easier for us? (I know, I know... because then it wouldn't be as much fun.)

Does the HPB *have* to be a man? How about a half-blood princess? Like Tonks for example? Okay, okay, so we didn't meet her then. Or Remus, who's my other vote for HBP as JKR confirmed in an interview (darn I can't remember which one! Must check http://www.hp-lexicon.org) that Remus is a halfblood. Or maybe Hagrid? We DID learn lots about Hagrid in CoS. But I just want it to be Remus because my alterego and muse, Kaylee, wants it to be her father, Remus John Lupin, Moony, werewolf and best darn DADA teacher ever to grace Hogwarts so there, Snape! Hmph. Mean Snape. Wouldn't it be insane if SNAPE was the HBP? Not going there...too weird. KayleeTonksLupin, half-werewolf, half-metamorphmagus and darn proud of it.

What we know so far... new J.K. Rowling answered fans' questions about book six at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Information from the full transcript will be incorporated into HBP.info shortly! The title of book 6 is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, not Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé. updated The "half-blood prince" is neither Harry Potter nor Voldemort (so who is it?). The title was once considered by author J.K. Rowling for the name of book 2, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which incidentally "holds some very important clues to the ultimate end of the series." She admits "crucial pieces of information" to be revealed in book 6 were actually pulled from that story very early on, as it wasn't the "proper home" for them. The opening chapter, Rowling has stated, is actually reborn from discarded early chapters removed from the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. We may see a more explicit scene of Voldemort killing Harry's parents. Harry and friends will be in their sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and most in his class will be 16 years old. Book six will be "quite a bit shorter" than Order of the Phoenix (book 5). Mark Evans is nobody important. The fact that this minor character, mentioned only in passing, has the same last name as Harry's mother (Lily Evans, maiden name), is purely coincidental.

Well I thought I would give you my silly theory though I kinda think...maybe its not so silly lol I think the half blood prince could be Seamus! He mentions in the 1st book that his father was a muggle and his mother a witch. I think there is more to the character than just a filler character.....of course i could be wrong

Seamus would have been my guess too, but then again he says so in book one, not two... Hm, even after re-reading book two I couldn't quite figure out who could be the HBP. Hugs, Rikki
