i'm just curious....does JKR says anywhere wands are require
to be made out of wood? also do we know what Albus/Minerva's are?

We don't know anything about Albus and Minerva's wands. JKR posted a calendar for woods on her site, which helped her choose wands for the characters, so I suppose the answer to your first question is a yes.

on her website she has a whole section on wands, and who has what and why.. lemme.. see what my magic wand can do here... www.jkrowling.com/textonly/extrastuff_view.cfm?id=18knowing that, if you know Minerva's birthday, and Albus's then you can figure out what type of wand they have. Here is a thought though, If Albus has a phoenix feather wand it didn't come from Fawks because Fawks only gave up two. She said she only used the calender for the three kids, and voldemort. According to this, I am a Reed- and for a while I was thinking- gee, I am a piece of grass that gets mowed over every saturday by the neighborhood kid. and it took me a while to realize that in musical instrirments, they use reeds- I remember the kids at school licking the reeds because when it was dry they didn't sound as nice, and it was called wetting the reed.. and did a bit of research and reeds get to be twelve feet tall- live for a single season and rattle about in the winds, but they return- and are known as a breaker... what ever that is. and at first when I thought- how could this be possible, then I began to think, Cool, I help people make music, and bring joy into others lives if i was a reed... There is something else that I remember about a reed, that it was better to be a reed in a storm than a tree because the tree is inflexable, and the humble reed will bend to the wind, and then straighten itself out after the storm is passed. humm, so according to the chart Minerva's wand would be ivy. We have no idea about Albus's as we have no birthday for him yet. (I still say there is something to that) but anyway. She also says she only used the Celtic chart for the Trio's wands. She says she used a different wood - oak, for Hagrid's wand because it fit him better. Anybody got any ideas about what wood characteristics fit our favorite couple?

I absolutely agree. There is no way Albus is a Cancer. Either he is a Leo... or JKR didn't post his birthday, because the rumours are true... but I refuse to believe this until we have proof. I've been fretting over this since February, originally, I thought he was an Aquarius.

Hey I'm a reed too  can't say I like that too much because all the instruments that I play don't require a reed. And I sort of don't like reeds some of them are nasty tasting (learn that from me friend who gags everytime she tries to moist her reed) But the instruments sure sound nice. I don't think we'll ever know what Albus' birthday is well until J.K.R tells us but I don't think she will. Hey does the chocolate frog tell us the birthday of the person one it? If it does maybe we can find out Albus' birthday. But I'm sort of doubting it. Lady Jolly |

As far as I know his birthday isn't listed on any Chocolate Frog Cards. But I haven't seen one, this info stems from The Harry Potter Lexicon.
