Minerva and the Dark Lord

Ok had an appifiny *sp* this morning. I've read a few stories where Min and Tom Riddle are in the same year at Hogwarts or really really close in age as in she's only a few years younger than him. That wouldn't be possible. Because she would have been 20ish while Riddle was still in school. If you do the math she's 70ish now subtract 50 years that's 20 so they wouldn't have been in the same year. Yes I'm crazy but has anyone else noticed that or something simlar?

But, say, 50 years ago Tom was in - eek I've forgotten what year! *grabs Cos*... 5th year. Which, depending upon his birthday makes him either 15 or 16 for most of the year. Which plus 50 is 65/66. Which is 5/4 years between Min and Voldemort, meaning their schooling will have clashed, but she will have been the older.

No? I don't know, it makes sense to me.

It's the whole her being younger thing that got me. I knew that wasn't right. Just having a TR/MM fic kinda is sick to me. Ew those two arn't right together. I even read one where Min had his kid and Albus knew about it and was perfectly fine with Riddle comming up to the High Table and sitting with Min while their daughter was being sorted. That was wrong.

Hell no. It doesn't happen, Minerva is good, Riddle was evil even in his 5th year. No no no no no. Minerva belongs with Albus..

I've read ones where they were together before he went evil, and that I can accept, since he was human and maybe Min could have fallen for him. But still, she has to go back to Albus.

I agree. She's with Albus and that's final. I don't like any other ships with Min invloved. They're just not right. Before he went evil I could stand them but Min and Albus forever.

I can't stand those TR/MM fics! *blech* Even at a young age, Tom was showing definite signs of being a menace. I see Minerva as someone who wouldn't give Tom a chance (in a relationship, at least).

I like the whole Tom is desperately in love with Minerva, but Minerva thinks he's a total slime ball look on that relationship Always fun.

I once read a story on here about Tom and Minerva! He did some pretty bad things to her... Albus was furious! - grins - I like angry Albus...

Tom got Min pergnant in Into the Lion's Den. *Before the story when she was in school* Albus wasn't mad just more upset. Of course Apollo was furious when he found out. It was so sad.

I like the hole tom and minerva thing... well kinda. its more like minerva loves albus, but wont leave tom because he 'loves' her and she thinks she 'loves' him. but in the end albus and minerva hook up. heh heh heh. and then that is one reason why tom hate albus.
CAll me crazy if you wana, but i think its good.
But I do think that minerva is way smarter then to be in a relationship with tom

and a side not, according to HPLexicon's timeline (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/timelines/timeline.php) They would have been at Hogwarts at the same time with her a year older, so it's actually possible

Minerva's born in 1925 as she is 70 in OOTP, Tom was 16 when he opened the COS, 50 years before book 2, in other words in 1942 making him born in 1926. Though, because Minerva is born late in the year (October) some have said that she was in fact in his school year. But, (there is always a but), JKR gave an interview, I'm not sure when, and stated Minerva's age as being 65 in GOF, making her younger than Tom.

So she was either one year above him at Hogwarts, or in the same year, making a relationship plausible (age-wise). Cho was a year older than Harry, remember. Or, going by the other interview, she was three years below him, also making the relationship plausible.

It's fascinating whatever way you look at it.

What if this whole war is based on Minerva and Tom? Like scorned love?

Well that would certainly be a turn of events. =]

I didn't like the idea of this at first. But my friend got me to sorta like it. And the more i read about it the more it made sense that it could have happened.

The two of them being sort of classmates can be important. But I don't think they were a couple. No evidence, it just makes no sense to me. Ok, I don't like it

I don't like TR/MM fics, but that's probably because the fics I've read that featured this ship were ADMM fics where Tom rapes Minerva and she turns to Albus for comfort. I doubt JKR would have anything that extreme in the book since little kids read it too, but I bet she knows more about Riddle/Voldemort than she's telling.

I've never gone completely for this paring. I've always seen Ton madly in love with Mina because she's smart and could help him out (in being evil). But Mina only looking for her Trans. prof. (if you don't know who that is then I recommend re-reading CoS). So yea ... I don't really like TR/MM but I'll read it as long as MM wants AD in it. But I also like the ideas about this whole war between Good/Evil is over Minerva. I think I'm going to try a ficlet on it ... only it's probably going to be really long. xD
